For
O.O.Osmerkin Art Memorial Museum 2017 is marked with the 125th anniversary of a prominent
countryman – an artist and pedagogue Olexander Oleksandrovych Osmerkin. On this occasion
on the execution of the Bylaw of Kirovohrad mayor from January 31, 2017 ¹8 “On marking
of 125th anniversary of O.O.Osmerkin” planned several events were planned by the museum
– theme exhibitions, art lectures, art workshops, lectures, excursions, meet the artist
events, different cultural and educational events, which will be held throughout the year.
On March 3, 2017 theme exhibitions: “O.O.Osmerkin’s
studio drawings of the 1920s – the beginning of 1950s” and “They loved him…”
Paintings and graphic works by the artists - students of O.O.Osmerkin” were opened.
At the unique exhibition “O.O.Osmerkin’s studio drawings of the
1920s – the beginning of 1950s”, which was exhibited only for one day, more than
twenty graphic works, given to the museum by the artist’s widow N.H.Osmerkina, were
shown. These are drawings made inclasses together with students at individual studios of
art higher educational establishments, and also numerous studies to the paintings,
sketches.
The exhibition “They loved him…” Paintings and graphic works by
the artists - students of O.O.Osmerkin” presents more than forty art works of famous
paintings of Soviet era – graduates of the studio of the Professor of Painting
O.O.Osmerkin in Leninhrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after
I.Yu.Repin and Moscow Art Institute named after V.I.Surikov. Among the exhibited artists
are such prominent names as People’s Artist of the USSR O.O.Moiseenko, People’s Artist
of Belarus Ye.O.Zaitsev, Merited Artists of Russia A.Yu. Nikich, H.O.Savinov and
M.P.Konchalovskiy, Merited Artist of Armenia Ye.A.Aslamazian and many others. This rare
collection of portraits, landscapes and still lifes of the 1930s – the beginning of the
1990s were presented by the authors to the museum of their teacher. The collection was put
together and given by Russian Cultural Fund in 1994 before the opening of O.O.Osmerkin
Art-Memorial Museum.
The first visitors of the exhibitions were students of Art and Graphic
Department of Art Faculty of Kirovohrad State Pedagogical University named after
V.Vynnychenko headed by their teacher – Art History PhD, laureate of Regional Award in
the sphere of Fine Art and History of Art named after Oleksander Osmerkin O.I.Kyrychenko.
Interesting and informative was a theme exhibition conducted by the leading research
officer of the museum, art historian, Merited Artist of Ukraine A.M.Nadezhdin, who not
only introduced the exhibitions, but also shared his own memories about meetings with the
painters – students of O.O.Osmerkin – I.I.Witman and R.M.Zelinska in their studios in
Moscow, that took place in 1997. |
