On the occasion
of International Museum Day (May 18) a traditional cultural and art event “A visit to
the museum” takes place annually in O.O.Osmerkin Art-Memorial Museum. This year
educational event is special, because it is dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the
artist and pedagogue O.O.Osmerkin. Different exhibitions, art-projects, concerts were held
within the framework of the event from May 13 to May 20, 2017.
On May 13, 2017 the project “Museum cinema hall” was
presented. Within the framework of the project two rare films were shown: “Golgotha of
the artist Oleksandr Osmerkin”, filmed in 1989 during the presentation of the major
retrospective exhibition of paintings and graphic works by O.O.Osmerkin in Central House
of Painters in Moscow. In this film widow of the artist Nadiia Heorhiivna Osmerkins tells
about creative search of the talented painter and about rather dramatic events during the
last years of his life. Second film is “Raisa Zelinska-Plate. Time reflects on people’s
faces” – 2010 video film about a famous Russian artist – graduate of professor
O.O.Osmerkin studio in Moscow State Art Institute named after V.I.Surikov Raisa Mykolaivna
Zelinska, who with emotional warmth remembers his teacher. There are works of R.M.Zelinska
in the museum collection. They were on display that day in the memorial hall.
It is symbolic that the viewers of “Museum cinema hall” were artists –
participants of this year open air organized by the gallery “Yelisavethrad” and
dedicated to the 125th anniversary of O.O.Osmerkin. Painters came to the museum with their
easels, paint and other working tools, and organized a real open air in the memorial hall.
The museum exposition and still life layout with beautiful spring iris flowers became a
topic for the artistic paintings. So the visitors of the museum had a unique opportunity
to watch a creative laboratory of painters.
And at the close of the event an unexpected, but a very welcome surprise
became a gift from Odesa artist, Merited Artist of Ukraine Anatolii Kravchenko –
authors watercolors, which he drew during the firm “Golgotha of the artist
Oleksandr Osmerkin”, being imbued with the tragic destiny of the artist and selfless
devotion of his widow. |
