On May 19, 2018 a traditional cultural, art and educational event “A visit to the museum” was help on the occasion of International Museum Day (May 18) in O.O.Osmerkin Art-Memorial Museum.
    Festive museum event was dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. It started with the opening of a theme exhibition “With Ukraine in the heart” from the cycle “Secrets of the museum collection”. Exposition included albums and catalogues of various exhibitions of works of Ukrainian artists published by the National Union of Artists of Ukraine during the period of independence of our country, many of which were successfully exhibited in the museum. And a key note of the educational event became meet the artist event with the first head of Kirovohrad regional organization of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine Mykhailo Nadezhdin, who expended much efforts to create the center for artists and was its head for 25 years. A talented artist, social activist and an extraordinary creative personality Mykhailo Nadezhdin, whose birthday is also on May 18, not only told about his difficult life and extremely interesting, full of search artist’s path, but also gave painter’s tips to the participants of a traditional museum “Art Workshop”. This year theme of the workshop was “Floral still life in creative work of Ukrainian artists”.
    Both youth and well-known artists were eager to try their hand at painting of spring flowers and on top of that, with items from still life fund of Oleksandr Osmiorkin. Pupils of Fine Art department of Children School of Arts under the supervision of their teachers a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine Yurii Vintenko and Yuliia Burhutina nearly 4 hours had been working in the museum halls. Pupils of the school take part in the workshop for the 7th time, because it is a joint event of the museum and the school.
    It is pleasant to notice that the art-project is growing in popularity. This year students of Art and Graphic Art Department of the Arts Faculty of Central Ukrainian State Pedagogical University named after V.Vynnychenko and Architectural Department of College of Construction showed desire to sense the atmosphere of creativity to the full, visit so called painter’ s laboratory. The students together with their lecturers - a member of the National Union of Artists and Folk Art Masters of Ukraine Larysa Kulinich and a member of the National Union of Architects of Ukraine Tetiana Peniaz reproduced still life stagings with flowers. A pupil of Children Art School named after O.O.Osmiorkin Ivanna Solomiennikova together with her sister Uliana and the smallest participant Anastasiia Peniaz took place in such an art event for the first time.
    A highlight of the event was a presentation of an express-exhibition of just created works, which was located in the memorial hall for the first time. It was a surprise for all the exhibitors, because it is very honorable. All the participants of the workshop received Certificates of acknowledgement and useful gifts, so called items of artist’s creative work – brushes, albums for watercolors, pastel and crayons.
    The museum also wasn’t left without gifts – a head of Fine Art department of Children School of Arts Yurii Vintenko gave to the museum funds vintage post cards of 1960s with the reproductions of paintings of Oleksandr Osmiorkin student, People’s Artist of the USSR Porfirii Krylov, who was one of the members of the creative group of satirical draughtsmen “Kukryniksy”, and Illia Mashkov – one of the founders of union of artists “Jack of Diamonds”, an active participant of which was Oleksandr Osmiorkin.
    Olena Kyrychenko - Ph.D. in Art history, associate professor of Art Department of Central Ukrainian Pedagogical University named after V.Vynnychenko, congratulated all the present on International Museum Day and highly appreciate the event, mentioning that O.O.Osmiorkin Art-Memorial Museum is a “live” museum, where the art life is, where a real fine art and classic art traditions are promoted.
