On October 2, 2018 a creative
meeting with Merited Journalist of Ukraine Ihor Demchuk took place in
O.O.Osmerkin Art-Memorial Museum. Also, a multimedia art edition “At the
crossroads of Yelisavethrad – Kirovohrad. Series of exhibition of
author’s photos by Ihor Demchuk” was presented.
Exposition and exhibition project to Town Day “At the
crossroads of Yelisavethrad – Kirovohrad” was initiated by the museum in
2014. The project is aimed at engaging people to learn about their past,
showing the town streets in photographs that depict architecture from
the town foundation to the present as a continued history of
construction of an integral urban environment and reproduce life of its
dwellers. The project is collaboration between the museum and Merited
Journalist of Ukraine Ihor Demchuk - a well-known photo journalist,
special correspondent of the regional newspaper “Narodne slovo”, first
laureate of municipal award of photo artists named after Vasyl Kovpak.
It is his works where shown in the museum at the theme exhibition to
Town Day in 2014-2018: “Dvortsova Street – the past and the present”
(2014), “Velyka Perspektyvna Street – from St.Elisaveta fortress to
Guardian Angel of the town” (2015), “From caryatid to High Tech.
Allurement of facade plastic art of the town on Inhul” dedicated to the
150th anniversary of an artist of architecture Ya. Pauchenko (2016) “The
town Central Square: chronicles” (2017) and “Tourism gems of
Kropyvnytskyi town” (2018). The exhibitions also included photo
collages, installations, and assemblage of Merited Artist of Ukraine
Andrii Nadezhdin.
Multimedia editorial on DVD has theme slide-shows and
booklets of the exhibitions. The slide-show includes photographs from
the collection of O.O.Osmerkin Art-Memorial Museum, private collection
of Ihor Demchuk, and internet-resources. The editorial was compiled by -
Merited Artist of Ukraine, art historian, a leading researcher of the
museum, curator of the photo exhibitions Andrii Nadezhdin.
Worshipers of the photo artist works, those who are
interested in photography and history of architecture of our town, and
students of the Department of Journalism, Publishing, and Editing of the
Philology and Journalism Faculty of Central Ukrainian State Pedagogical
University named after Volodymyr Vynnychenko together with their
supervisor, senior lecturer, candidate of Philological Sciences Dmytro
Shulha came to the meeting. All the present listened to Ihor Demchuk
telling about his work in the museum project and the photo album “The
city of five names. At the crossroads of styles and epochs.
Architectural images of the city of Kropyvnytskyi captured by Ihor
Demchuk” which was published recently in the publishing house
“IMEKS-LTD” sponsored by Town Council of Kropyvnytskyi within the
program of culture and tourism development. It was presented in the
museum. The visitors looked at the fragments of theme slide-shows of the
exhibitions shown in the museum.
At the event, Nelia Chorna, deputy head of the Department of
Culture and Tourism of the Town Council of Kropyvnytskyii, and Vitalii
Kryvenko, honorary freeman of Kropyvnytskyi, Merited Architect of
Ukraine, gave their speeches. A leading researcher of the museum Andrii
Nadezhdin gave Certificate of acknowledgement and a souvenir cup with
the logo of the project to Merited Journalist of Ukraine Ihor Demchuk.
At the end of the meeting all the present received booklets
of the exhibition of Ihor Demchuk’s photographs “Tourism gems of
Kropyvnytskyi town” presented in the museum this year and DVD-disks with
multimedia art museum editorial “At the crossroads of Yelisavethrad –
Kirovohrad. Series of exhibition of author’s photos by Ihor Demchuk”
signed by the author. The students learnt a lot of secrets of photo art
during the workshop conducted by Merited Journalist of Ukraine Ihor
Demchuk. |
