On October 12, 2018, before Artist Day, a personal exhibition of works by a famous artist, Merited Artist of Ukraine Anatolii Yaniev was opened in O.O.Osmerkin Memorial Museum. Also, a catalogue “Pictorial universe of Anatolii Yaniev” within the art project of the series of art exhibitions initiated by the museum “In the artist’s studio” was presented. Which is aimed at popularization of works of Kirovohrad artists and presupposes organization of personal exhibitions and publication of catalogues with articles about the artists, their reflections on fine art and their studios; with reproductions of works that brightly reflect their creative searches.
    Yaniev Anatolii Mykytovych (born 1945) – a graduate of Kyiv State Art Institute (now the National Academy of Visual Arts and Architecture of Ukraine), worked as a painter in Kirovohrad art and industrial workshops of Art Fund of Ukrainian SSR, later shared his experience to young artists working in Central Ukrainian State Pedagogical University named after V.Vynnychenko and Children’s Art School named after O.Osmerkin. Participated in regional, all-Ukrainian and international art exhibitions. Works are kept in the Directorate of exhibitions of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, museums and private collections. Is the first laureate of the Regional Award in Fine Art and History of Art named after Oleksandr Osmerkin in the nomination “national tradition”, and in 2013, received a high title of “Merited Artist of Ukraine”.
    At the current exhibition, 45 paintings from the author’s collection are shown. The works were made mostly in the last two years. Also, paintings from the museum collection and graphic portraits of the 1980s are exhibited, the latter for the first time.
    A lot of colleagues and worshipers of his work came to the exhibition opening. The chief specialist of the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Town Council of Kropyvnytskyi Viktoriia Petrynska, the head of the regional organization of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine Andrii Khvorost, representatives of the Regional Art Museum, the owner of the gallery “Elisavethrad” Mykola Tsukanov, the director of the Music School No 1 named after H.H.Neuhaus Yevheniia Maliavkina came to congratulate the artist on the vernissage. And the head of the Visual Arts Department of the School of Arts, a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine Yurii Vintenko presented a jubilee coin with the image of Alma Mater of the artist – “100th anniversary of the National Academy of Visual Arts and Architecture of Ukraine”. A musical gift was the performance of the compositions by a quintet “Miniature” which includes teachers of the music school No3, which had been headed for a long time by the artist’s wife Tamara Yanieva, who inspires the painter to create.
    A real art fest took place in the museum on that day – artists communicated freely and easily to the sounds of the memorial grand piano played by Merited Artist of Ukraine Serhii Shapovalov. Also, Merited Artist of Ukraine Anatolii Yaniev signed the catalogue. And of course, a traditional photo shoot near the museum building was made.
