On 19 December 2018 personal
exhibitions of the painters from Dnipro Oleksandr Vasylenko “Windows”
and Mariia Hrym “Yanivka willows” were opened.
Oleksandr Vasylenko was born in Dnipro, graduated from
the College of Theatre and Art (2002), teaches in Children’s Art School
No.2 and is the head of visual arts studio “Art studios” in the City
Center for children and youth.
Mariia Hrym was born in Kirovohrad region, the title
of her first personal exhibition “Yanivka willows” represents her
childhood memories about time spent at the granny’s in the village
Ivanivka, Oleksandrivka district which earlier had the title Yanivka.
Graduated from Kirovohrad State Pedagogical University named after
V.Vynnychenko (now Central Ukrainian State Pedagogical University named
after V.Vynnychenko) in 1993, later moved to Dnipro and currently
teaches in Children’s Art School No.2 and is the head of the studio of
fine art “Design and décor” of the Center for children and youth.
A successful pedagogical work painters Oleksandr Vasylenko
and Mariia Hrym combine with creative work. They are active participants
of the city, regional, national and international exhibitions.
More than seventy works created in the recent two years are
shown at the current first personal exhibitions. Among them are
watercolor, pastel and gouache sketches made from nature at the plein
airs in Dnipro, Lviv, Prague and also in the Carpathians and in
Kirovohrad region.
During the opening of the exhibitions, the artists told about
their creative travels, illustration interesting and funny art stories
with numerous photos and videos. And as Olexandr Vasylenko had mentioned
during the presentation, he called his exhibition “Windows” because a
piece of paper or canvas where the seen is reflected represents a window
outside which there is the whole world.
Merited Artist of Ukraine Andrii Nadezhdin congratulated
artists from Dnipro on the opening of the personal exhibitions. He
gifted them a catalogue “The Nadezhdin’s family”. The initiator of the
event Larysa Kulinich, a senior lecturer of Art and Graphic Department
of the Art Faculty of Central Ukrainian State Pedagogical University
named after V.Vynnychenko, a member of the National Unions of Artist and
Masters of Folk Art of Ukraine, a laureate of the Regional Award in
Architecture, Heraldry and Vexillology, and Decorative and Applied Arts
named after Yakiv Pauchenko, introduced her colleagues and presented
them with her author’s work – a ceramic candle holder. The museum staff
presented the artists with Certificated of Acknowledgement and souvenir
cups with the image of the memorial building.
The visitors had been communicating with the authors of the
exhibition for a long time – among them were family, friends, fellow
artists, and simply worshipers of visual arts, and of course students of
Art and Graphic Department of the Art Faculty of the university.
Oleksandr Vasylenko and Mariia Hrim shared their knowledge and gave
autographs to all their fans. |
