On February 20, 2020, an opening of the exhibition of works for the Regional Award in Architecture, Heraldry, Vexillology, and Decorative and Applied Art named after Yakiv Pauchenko in 2020.
    The Award was initiated by the Kirovohrad Regional Council in 2002 on the application of Kirovohrad Regional Organizations of the National Union of Architects of Ukraine, Ukrainian Heraldic Society, and the National Union of Artists of Ukraine.
    The award is given annually on March 21 on the date of birth of Yakiv Pauchenko. Works in two nominations “heraldry and vexillology” and “decorative and applied art” were submitted for this year’s award.
    In the nomination “heraldry and vexillology”: Symbols coat of arms and flag) of the village of Krasnosilka and Rozumivka of Oleksandrivskii district, Kirovohrad region (Author: Biloshapka Vasyl Viktorovych – a member of Ukrainian Heraldry Society, the National Union of Journalists and Local History Experts of Ukraine, Committee of Kirovohrad Regional Council for Implementation of Symbols of communities, villages, townships, towns, district of the region, director Oleksandriia District Local History Museum, a laureate of the Regional Local History Award named after Volodymyr Yastrebov (2002) and the Regional Award in Architecture, Heraldry, and Vexillology, and Decorative and Applied Art named after Yakiv Pauchenko in the nomination “heraldry and vexillology” (2005), the village of Oleksandrivka, Kirovohrad region) and Symbols (coat of arms and flag) of the village of Pavlysh, Onufriivka district, Kirovohrad region (Author: Postryhan Vitalii Viktorovych – a teacher of History of Hub Institution of General Secondary Education “Pavlish lyceum named after V.O.Sukhomlynskyi”, laureate of the Regional Local History Award named after Volodymyr Yastrebov (2011), the village of Pavlysh, Onufriivka district, Kirovohrad region).
    In the nomination “decorative and applied art”: Monumental panels in the mosaic technique: “Old Testament”, “Christianization of Kievan Rus”, a triptych “John the Baptist”, “Most Holy Mother of God”, and “St. Righteous Elizabeth” 2017-2018 made on the area of the Cathedral Church of Annunciation to the Blessed Virgin Mary in the town of Kropyvnytskyi. (Author: Kryvko Oleksandr Volodymyrovych – an artist, a teacher of municipal institution ‘Art School named after O.O.Osmerkin of the town of Kropyvnytskyi”, the head of the Department of Architecture and Construction of the Kirovohrad eparchy of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, a churchman of the Church of Siant Nicholas (the town of Kropyvnytskyi) and works – the panels made in the traditional techniques of decorative and applied art - art needlepoint and cross stitch, 3D applique from color ribbons (Author: Muntian Valentyna Vasylivna – Merited Artist of Folk Art of Ukraine, the town of Kropyvnytskyi).
    The presentation of the exposition of demonstrative materials that were applied for the award was held with the participation of the competition committee. The authors Vasyl Biloshapka, Vitalii Postryhan, and Oleksandr Kryvko personally presented their works and answered numerous questions on their creation.
The head of Kirovohrad Regional Council, the head of Competition Committee of the Award Oleksandr Chornoivanenko conducted a congratulatory speech. A high artistic and scientific and historical level of the heraldic symbols and works of decorative and applied art was noted by the members of the contest committee – the head of the Regional Organization of Ukrainian Heraldry Society, Merited Architect of Ukraine Vitalii Kryvenko and the head of the Regional Organization of the National Union of Architects of Ukraine Liudmyla Kharlamova.
    Citizens and guests of the town also have the opportunity to explore the exhibition, enter the public discussion, and leave their feedback that will be taken into the account by the committee during the objective decision of the laureates of the award.
