On
March 3, 2020, an opening of a personal exhibition “Spring – love – life”
of carpet weaving works of Merited Artist of Folk Art of Ukraine Oleksandra Prenko in
O.O.Osmerkin Art-Memorial Museum. The exhibition was opened within the art project of the
series of art exhibitions “Laureates of the Regional Award in Architecture, heraldry,
and Vexillology, and Decorative and Applied Art named after Yakiv Pauchenko”.
The art project was initiated by the museum last year to the
anniversary of an outstanding architect Yakiv Pauchenko. It is aimed at the promotion of
the creative work of artists – laureates of the Award in the nomination “decorative
and applied art” and presupposes organization of personal exhibition and publication of
themed booklets.
Prenko Oleksandra Ivanivna (born 1966) – Merited
Artist of Folk Art of Ukraine (2009), a member of the National Union of Folk Art Artists
of Ukraine (2009), a laureate of the Regional Award in Architecture, heraldry, and
Vexillology, and Decorative and Applied Art named after Yakiv Pauchenko in the nomination
“decorative and applied art” (2013), a high-achiever in the education of Ukraine
(2000), a coordinator of Kirovohrad Regional Center of the National Union of Folk Art
Artists of Ukraine. A participant of regional, all-Ukrainian, and international
exhibitions, festivals, and competitions of decorative and applied art. The works are kept
in the collections of O.O.Osmerkin Art-Memorial Museum, Regional Art and Local History
Museums in Kropyvnytskyi, in the private collections in Ukraine and abroad. In 2005, got
the Copyright Certificate of State Department of Intellectual Property of the Ministry of
Education and Science of Ukraine for technological development of works of applied art “Carpet
weaving doll” (three-dimensional and planar).
The current personal exhibition of Oleksandra Prenko presents nearly 30
works in the technique of carpet weaving from the author’s collection and museum
collection – tapestries, carpets, and three-dimensional dolls from the series The
Nations, Ukrainian National Costume, History of Mankind created during1994-2020 years. The
artist implements traditions of Ukrainian carpet weaving into the modern living space with
her work. A pleasant surprise for the visitors was the miniature works Angels and
Butterflies of Happiness that were displayed for sale.
The artist was congratulated on the personal vernissage by the deputy
head of the Department of Culture and Tourism of the City Council of the town of
Kropyvnytskyi Nelia Chorna, the deputy director for science of the Regional Local History
Museum Svitlana Kolesnyk, the chief custodian of the Regional Art Museum Valentyna
Nozhenko, leading training specialist of Decorative and Applied art and Visual Art of the
Regional Center of the Folk Art Nataliia Demekhova, the principalof Art School named after
O.Osmerkin Hanna Tymofiienko, fellow artists, laureates of the award – a teacher of Art
and Grpahic Art Subdepartment of the Department of Art of the Central Ukrainian State
Pedagogical University named after V.Vynnychenko, Ph.D.in Pedagogy, a member of the
National Union of Folk Art Artists of Ukraine Larysa Harbuzenko, who came to the
exhibition opening together with creative students, and a member of the National Union of
Artists of Ukraine and the National Union of Folk Art Artists of Ukraine Olha Kolomiiets,
the head of the studio “Sovushka”, a member of the National Union of Folk Art Artists
of Ukraine Tetiana Storozhenko, former students, the curator of the exhibition, a leading
researcher of the museum, Merited Artist of Ukraine Andrii Nadezhdin and the museum
director Vita Chernova, who handed Letter of Congratulations and presented a souvenir cup
with the image of the museum. But especially warm, friendly, and emotional were
congratulations from the famous journalist from Kyiv Liudmyla Chechel who is a worshiper
of Oleksandra Prenko’s works. She has mentioned it in the numerous publications in the
national newspaper “Culture and Life”. |
