The exposition of the online exhibition “Creative Future of Ukraine: to International Children’s Day consists of works by pupils and students from the museum collection “Gallery of Art Competition “Youth Palette” named after Leonid Bondar”.
    The competition was initiated by the museum with the support of the Department of Culture and Tourism of the City Council of the town of Kropyvnytskyi. It is named after a famous artist and pedagogue – Merited Cultural Worker of Ukraine, a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, a laureate of the Regional Award in Fine Art and Study of Art named after Oleksandr Osmerkin in the nomination “national tradition” Leonid Ivanovych Bondar (1938-2013), who has been the principal of Children Art School for more than 20 years. In 1992, the school was named after O.O.Osmerkin. The co-organizer of the competition is the Kirovohrad Regional Organization of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine.
    The exhibition presents more than forty drawings and creative works of the winners of the competition, who were awarded Diplomas, Acknowledgments, Certificates from the Jury and the Organizing Committee.These are the works of pupils of Art School named after Oleksandr Osmerkin, the Department of Visual Arts of Children School of Arts, pupils of the classes of the Regional and Town of Children’s and Youth’s Centers, and studios of general educational institutions, as well as of the students of Art and Graphic Art Subdepartment of the Art Department of the Central Ukrainian State Pedagogical University named after V.Vynnychenko and Kropyvnytskyi College of Construction, specialty “architecture and town planning”.
    The topics of the works are diverse as well as the themes of the competition they were presented in: “We are the Future of Ukraine” to the 25th anniversary of Independence Day of Ukraine (2016), “Classical Genres of Fine Art” to the 125th anniversary of Oleksandr Osmerkin (2017), “World of Children’s Creativity” to the 80th anniversary of Merited Cultural Worker of Ukraine Leonid Bondar (2018), and “My Town” to the 265th anniversary of the foundation of the town of Kropyvnytskyi (2019).
    These works of creative pupils and students, made with watercolors and gouache, pencil and other art techniques, impress with the openness of color, vivid imagination, ingenuousness of view of life, romanticism of moods, pureness, interest in life, and exploration of the surrounding world.
We hope the art competition “Youth Palette” named after Leonid Bondar to International Children’s Day in 2020 on the topic: “Magical World of Childhood” (Illustrations to literary works), which was postponed due to the lockdown, will take place and the exhibition of the works of the winners and participants will traditionally be exhibited in the museum.
