On March 1, 2021, during the events
dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the gallery “Elisavetgrad”, a
well-known philanthropist Mykola Tsukanov handed to the collection of
O.O.Osmerkin Art-Memorial Museum art presents – paintings and printed
issues: a painting by Chinese artist Liu Jian “Osmerkin Museum”, created
by the author, then a Ph.D. student of South Ukrainian National
Pedagogical University named after K.D.Ushynsky during the joint art
project of the gallery “Elisavetgrad” and the museum “Art Plein air –
2017” dedicated to the 125th anniversary of .O.Osmerkin” and which was
displayed at the museum exhibition on May 20 within the cultural and art
event “A Visit to the Museum” to International Museum Day; pastel
drawing “Moshny” (1977) made by a well-known sculptor-medalist from the
town of Svitlovodsk, the Kirovohrad Oblast, Viacheslav Popov – a member
of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine and International Art Medal
Federation, a laureate of the Regional Award in Fine Art and Study of
Art named after O.O.Osmerkin in the nomination “national tradition” in
2013; catalog “Sea of Watercolors” of the Third all-Ukrainian and
International Exhibition and Biennale in Odesa in 2020. A photo of
O.O.Osmerkin and a reproduction of his watercolor painting “Nude” from
the museum collection were published; multimedia edition on CD “Photo
Archives of Andrii Dibrovnyi and Vasyl Kovpak from the archives of the
Gallery “Yelisavethrad” which presents the history of our town then
Kirovohrad, and now Kropyvnytskyi, in photo chronicles.
It is not the first gift to the museum from Mykola Tsukanov –
a well-known gallery owner, active popularize of Ukrainian visual art,
an organizer of the national art plein airs, competitions of children’s
drawing known beyond Ukraine, the author of printed issues about modern
fellow artists: “Remedy for Depression”, “Provincial Newspaper”, a
series of albums “Palette of Steppe Land” for which he became a laureate
if the Regional Award in Fine Art and Study of Art named after Oleksandr
Osmerkin in the nomination “study and history of art” in 2016.
Mykola Tsukanov adds to the museum collection and archives of
our town and is engaged in extremely important educational activities in
the sphere of modern Ukrainian visual art. |
