On August 23, 2021,
on State Flag of Ukraine Day, an art exhibition “Sunny Colors of Ukraine”
was opened to the 30th anniversary of Independence of Ukraine in
O.O.Osmerkin Art Memorial Museum. The displayed works are a part of the
museum collection “Modern Ukrainian Fine Art”.
The exposition of the exhibition consists of paintings,
graphic works, sculptures, and decorative works of the modern famous
artists of the Kirovohrad region – the People’s Artist of Ukraine
Mykhailo Nadezhdin, Merited Artists of Ukraine Borys Vintenko, Nelia
Firsova, Anatolii Yaniev, Serhii Shapovalov, Feliks Polonskyii and
Andrii Nadezhdin, Merited Folk Art Artist of Ukraine Oleksandra Prenko,
Merited Cultural Worker of Ukraine Leonid Bondar, members of the
National Unions of Artists and Folk Art Artists of Ukraine. The majority
of the artists are the laureates of the Regional Awards in Fine Art and
Study of Art named after Oleksandr Osmerkin and in Architecture,
Heraldry and Vexillology, Decorative and Applied Arts named after Yakiv
Pauchenko. The exhibition displays 70 works created in the period from
the 1990s and till nowadays. Landscapes, still lifes, and themed
compositions impress with bright colors, the harmony of plastic forms,
and elegance of graphic lines, their symbolic images encourage
contemplation, set up for a romantic mood, fill with optimism, and give
the atmosphere of the artistic holiday, conveying the special, unique
coloristic of Ukrainian sunny palette.
Painters, architects, journalists, and worshipers of
Ukrainian fine art came to the festive museum vernissage. The heads of
the local art centers gave congratulatory speeches – the head of the
Kirovohrad Regional Organization of the National Union of Artists of
Ukraine Andrii Khvorost and the head of the Kirovohrad Regional
Organization of the National Union of Architects of Ukraine, merited
Architect of Ukraine Yurii Peniaz, as well as associate professor of the
Art Department of Central Ukrainian State Pedagogical University named
after Volodymyr Vynnychenko, Ph.D. in Art History Olena Kyrychenko. On
this day, the museum got pictorial gifts. The leading researcher of the
museum, Merited Artist of Ukraine Andrii Nadezhdin characterized the
exhibition of the works by the artists from the Kirovohrad region as: “a
demonstration of the style of modern Ukrainian art which, in the modern
information environment, is noted for poetical philosophy based on the
reconsideration of folk and literary forms of folk cosmogenesis and the
world art practices”. He also handed to the museum collection his
self-portrait and a work by his sister, abstract artist Oksana Zhuravel
(Nadezhdina), whose jubilee personal exhibition was presented at the
museum website. So, the art works were added to the museum collection
“Modern Ukrainian Fine Art”; and the potential museum visitors will be
able to see the works in the new expositions. |
