On January 12, 2022, in the regional
universal scientific library named after D.I.Chizhevskyi the
presentation of the album -
Colors of the Steppe:
Painting. Graphics. Sculpture. Ceramics. Arts and crafts. –
Kropyvnytskyi: PP "Polium", 2021. – 152 p.: illustrations. -
Ukrainian and English text, was held. The publication of which was
carried out at the expense of the regional budget of the Kirovohrad
region within the framework of the "Book publishing" program.
The directory album presents the work of artists of the
Kirovohrad regional organization of the National Union of Artists of
Ukraine from the time of its foundation in 1989 to the present day,
including People's Artist of Ukraine Mykhailo Nadezhdin, Honored Artists
of Ukraine Borys Vintenko, Serhiy Shapovalov, Hryhoriy Hnatyuk, Anatoly
Yanev, Felix Polonsky , Andrii Nadezhdin, Nataliya Fedorenko, Emilia
Rudenko and Nelya Firsova, honored cultural workers of Ukraine Vasyl
Ostapenko and Leonid Bondar, as well as amateur artists whose works are
a part of modern Ukrainian fine art - Andrii Lipatov, Nadia Padurska,
Volodymyr Ostroukhov and Viktor Osypenko . Most of the artists presented
in the album are laureates of regional prizes in the field of fine arts
and art history named after Oleksandr Osmerkin and in the field of
architecture, heraldry and vexillology, and decorative and applied arts
named after Yakov Pauchenko.
The author of the introductory article is Andrii Nadezhdin, a
leading researcher of the O.O.Osmerkin Memorial Art Museum, art critic,
Honored Artist of Ukraine. "Anyone who has had the opportunity to meet
the works of Kirovohrad artists will forever remember the special,
unique coloristics of a bright, sunny palette of colors, saturated with
deep contrasts of light and shadow, the colors of the boundless sky and
fragrant steppe grasses. Philosophical images full of inner tension,
created by masters of painting, graphics, sculpture, and applied art, in
which echoes of the greatness of glory and the bitterness of tragedies
preserved in the memory of our land reverberate with the string of
history, are deeply touching to the soul," - with these words he begins
his introduction article to the album.
The editors of the publication are the initiator of the
creation and the first head of the Kirovohrad regional organization of
the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, People's Artist of Ukraine
Mykhailo Nadezhdin, and its current head Andriy Hvorost, who designed
the cover and executed the layout, and also gave permission to place the
electronic version of the album on the museum website.
Leading cultural institutions of the city and region took
part in the preparation of the album - the O.O.Osmerkin Memorial Art
Museum, the Art Museum and the regional universal scientific library
named after D. I. Chizhevskyi, who provided reference materials about
artists from their own funds.
During the event, which was moderated by the head of the art
department of the library, a member of the editorial team of the album
Svitlana Ushakova, the deputy head of the regional council Dmytro Linko,
the head of the department of communications with the public of the
regional state administration Vitaly Ostanniy, the head of the regional
organization of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine Andriy Hvorost,
the director of the regional universal scientific library named after D.
I. Chizhevsky³ Honored Worker of Culture of Ukraine Valentina
Zhivotovska, deputy director of the art museum Hanna Osipova, regional
council deputy Serhiy Kovalenko, the owner of Yelysavetgrad gallery
Mykola Tsukanov.
But particularly warm congratulations came from the first
laureate of the Oleksandr Osmerkin regional prize in the field of fine
arts and art history in the nomination "art history and art history" by
the honored journalist of Ukraine Bronislav Kumanskyi, who noted in the
annotation of the publication: "The art reference album "Colors of the
Steppe" represents a work of art more than sixty artists of the
Kirovohrad regional organization of the National Union of Artists of
Ukraine, starting from the 60s of the last century to the present, and
is designed to acquaint a wide circle of art fans with the history and
representatives of painting, graphics, sculpture, masters of decorative
and applied, monumental and theatrical art, their creativity. At the
same time, the album is a bright business card of the Kirovohrad region,
a good gift for tourists and guests of the city above Ingul."
