Art studios in a new format

On February 16, 2022, the traditional "Art Studios" took place in the O.O.Osmerkin Memorial Art Museum. This art project was launched in 2012 on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding artist and teacher Oleksandr Osmerkin. Its organizers were the museum and the fine arts department of the children's art school.
The initiator of the current event is Olga Krasnopolska, an artist from Kropivnytskyi, the head of the fine arts department of the children's art school, who proposed to organize "Art Studios" with the participation of both professional artists and beginner amateurs, who would learn skills during mutual creative communication with art specialists , and make them not just traditional, but systematic, a kind of art school and a platform for communication. "According to my idea, we should redraw half of the city. I would like to meet regularly, as much as possible, 1-3 times a month, write essays, share experiences. For some reason, I want artists meet more often", - this is how Olga Krasnopolska defined her creative idea.
Journalist Lilia Kocherga posed as a model in the museum space. Honored Artist of Ukraine Andriy Nadezhdin, members of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine Valery Davydov and Anatoly Kimnatnyi responded with interest to the offer to "paint a portrait from nature", by the way, all of them are laureates of the Oleksandr Osmerkin regional prize in the field of fine arts and art history, as well as an architect Iryna Kukharenko is a member of the National Union of Architects and Artists of Ukraine by profession and an artist by heart, who has repeatedly presented her watercolors in the museum at personal openings. Amateur artists - doctor Maryna Ponomaryova and stylist Tetyana Kondratieva, who have been taking painting lessons from Olga Krasnopolska for several years and, we hope, will become participants in the Biennale of naïve art and art of primitivism named after Andriy Lipatov at the All-Ukrainian the day of cultural workers and masters of folk art, which will be held in the museum for the second time this year.
And the recording of this incredibly exciting action, a real artistic workshop, the creative process, when a female portrait appears on a blank sheet of paper or white primed canvas, was captured by the Krypnytskyi photographer Oleksandr Shuleshko, a member of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine, whose photos are also the result of "Art Studios" in the museum.
So, in the year of commemorating the 130th anniversary of the birth of painting professor Oleksandr Osmerkin, for whom the statement of the world-famous French artist Auguste Renoir: "Art is learned in museums" was a kind of creative credo, and who repeatedly sharpened his own artistic skills in museums, about what he wrote in his autobiography: "Among "my universities" that left an unforgettable mark, one of the first places belongs to the Shchukin Collection in Moscow," which, as you know, became the basis of the collection of French modernist paintings in the State Museum of Fine Arts named after O.S.Pushkin, "Art studios" in the memorial museum of the artist, whose life was full of constant creative searches, received a new breath and began to be implemented in a new professional format.
