May 18, 2022 is International Museum
Day. The International Council of Museums ICOM, having determined the
theme of the International Day of Museums-2022: "The Power of Museums",
calls on the museums of the world to explore and show the potential of
museums from the position of influence and positive change in their
communities: the power of achieving sustainable development, the power
innovations in digitization and accessibility, the power of community
development through education. Through their collections and programs,
museums create a social network that is important for the formation and
development of society. By supporting democratic values and providing
learning opportunities for all social groups, regardless of age,
throughout life, they contribute to the formation of a conscious and
active civil society.
After the coronavirus pandemic, Ukrainian museums faced even
more difficult challenges. And despite the fact that Ukraine is in a
state of war, the Oleksandr Osmerkin Art Memorial Museum does not
abandon the tradition of celebrating the International Day of Museums
with the cultural and artistic educational event "Museum Guests",
because this is an opportunity to emphasize the role of the museum in
preserving the artistic heritage of compatriot artists and the
opportunity to tell about the dedicated work of those who are engaged in
the museum work, about the strength and stability of the museum during
the war.
Unfortunately, this year the museum does not have the
opportunity to show its memorial exposition and interesting thematic and
artistic exhibitions in a real format, therefore we offer their
electronic version on the museum website in the "Selected exhibitions"
and "Selected events" sections. We invite all fans of fine arts to visit
the "Virtual museum guests-2022", dedicated to the 130th anniversary of
the birth of the artist and teacher Oleksandr Osmerkin.
The staff of the Oleksandr Osmerkin Memorial Art Museum
congratulates colleagues on the International Day of Museums! Let's be
strong, brave and courageous! Let's keep in line on the museum front! We
believe in Victory! Everything will be Ukraine! |
