On February 22, 2023, the O.O.Osmerkin
Art Memorial Museum organized a creative meeting with the artist Olha
Krasnopolska, the author of the virtual exhibition of digital collages
"2022 Christ's Birthday", presented on the museum's website in the "Selected
Exhibitions" section for the anniversary of the beginning of the
full-scale invasion of Russian troops to Ukraine. The exposition
consists of thirteen collages made by the Kropyvnytskyi artist in
February- March 2022, and her author's poem "2022 Christ's Birthday",
the symbolic name of which became the title of the personal exhibition.
The event was held at the Tourist Information Center as part
of the "Patriotic February" project, organized by the Department of
Culture and Tourism of the Kropyvnytskyi City Council. There were also
presented printed collages that were created a year ago, but which, as
their author noted, are still relevant today. Reflecting the entire
range of thoughts and feelings of the first days of the war, a year
later they are perceived differently, because in fact they are prophetic
and life-affirming - Ukraine is bloodied, but unconquered, it is
defending itself, and Ukrainians are defending their land and liberating
it from foreigners.
During the meeting, Olha Krasnopolska not only talked about
how the idea of creating collages came about and how this creative
process took place, but also enthusiastically read the author's poems,
written as a response to the tragic events in the country.
The creative meeting was attended by her friends, as well as
journalists, poets, museum scientists, artists and colleagues - teachers
of the children's art school, where she works as the head of the fine
arts department, art school named after O.O.Osmerkin, in which she once
studied, and the alternative school "KrOK", where she teaches drawing.
Olga Krasnopolska presented all of them with a thematic booklet of the
exhibition, the design of which was carried out by museum scientist
artist Nataliya Kornilova.
The artist was congratulated with the opening ceremony by the
Deputy Head of the Department of Culture and Tourism of the
Kropyvnytskyi City Council Nelya Chorna, Director of the O.O.Osmerkin
Memorial Art Museum Vita Chernova, Headmaster of the Children's Art
School Andriy Tsarenko, Director of the alternative school "KrOK" Zoya
Lebid, Chief Custodian of the Art Museum's Funds Valentyna Nozhenko,
head of the Kirovohrad regional organization of the National Union of
Writers of Ukraine, Nadiya Harmazii, poetess Antonina Tsaruk from
Kropyvnytskyi, artist Mykola Lomakin from Kharkiv, and artists Iryna
Kukharenko, Nataliya Kornilova and Olha Kolomiets, who are active
participants in the museum art project "Art Studios" on the theme:
Portraits of contemporaries against the backdrop of the war", curated by
Olha Krasnopolska.
And the spring flowers presented to the artist
instilled confidence in everyone present in the victory of light, good
and life! |
