On June 9, 2023, on
the International Day of Friends, the collectives of three city museums
- O.O.Osmerkin Art Memorial Museum, I.K.Karpenko-Karyi Literary Memorial
Museum and Museum of Musical Culture named after Karol Szymanowski was
held in the memorial house of the coryphaeus of the Ukrainian theater
Ivan Karpenko-Karyi on Tobilevich Street, 16, a joint artistic event
dedicated to the memory of his colleague, the Honored Artist of Ukraine
Andrii Nadiezhdin (1963 - 2022), who worked for 27 years as a leading
researcher of the O.O.Osmerkin Memorial Art Museum and who would have
turned 60 on June 19.
The initiator of the commemoration evening was the scientists
of the I.K.Karpenko-Karyi Literary Memorial Museum, who prepared a
thematic exhibition named after the lines of Andrii Nadiezhdin's poem: "My
friend left without closing the door, leaving a passage to the horizon...".
Scientific staff of the O.O.Osmerkin Art Memorial Museum joined the
creation of the exhibition and provided self-portraits of the Honored
Artist of Ukraine Andrii Nadiezhdin and his other paintings and graphic
works from the museum collection "Contemporary Ukrainian Fine Art", as
well as the artist's sister, a member of the National Union of Artists
of Ukraine, Oksana Zhuravel, who handed over his sketches of
illustrations for the books of writers of the Kirovohrad region, one of
the last self-portraits of the artist, made by him already during the
war in 2022, and a homemade book with illustrations for "Words about
Igor's regiment", designed by Andrii Nadezhdin back in school years.
The exhibition was presented by the director of the
I.K.Karpenko-Karyi Literary Memorial Museum, Larysa Khosiainova, who
spoke about the fruitful cooperation of the museum with Andrii
Nadiezhdin in the creation and artistic design of the expositions of
many literary exhibitions.
The emotional component of the event was the presentation of
a slide film of numerous photos of Andrii Nadiezhdin and a fragment of a
video recording of the presentation of his personal exhibition "Imprints
of Time and Space" on the day of his 55th birthday on June 19, 2018 at
the O.O.Osmerkin Art Memorial Museum, where he personally talks about
himself and his creative formation.
A special emphasis of the artistic gathering became the
author's poems of Andrii Nadiezhdin, performed by an artist of the
Kirovohrad Ukrainian Academic Music and Drama Theater named after
M.L.Kropyvnytskyi Oleksii Doroshev, who quoted them from the collection
"Thoughts Aloud" prepared by the artist back in 2012.
Tamara Samyliak, head of the "Imex-LTD" publishing house,
shared the good news about the publication of this book with all those
present, who showed not only the layout of the book with the signature
of Andrii Nadiezhdin before printing, but also a signal copy of it with
color reproductions of the artist's works, noting that the presentation
of the poetry collection will take place on the artist's birthday in the
art museum.
Memories of the artist were shared by his sister Oksana
Zhuravel, honored journalist of Ukraine Valerii Miatovych, who at one
time was the editor-in-chief of the newspaper "Narodne Slovo" and the
magazine "Hobby", where numerous art articles were published by Andrii
Nadiezhdin, director of the art school named after O.O.Osmerkin Hanna
Timofienko, head of the fine arts department of the children's art
school, artist Olha Krasnopolska, local historian Fedir Shepel and
director of the Museum of Musical Culture named after Karol Szymanowski
Oleksandr Poliachok, who, together with his wife, a teacher at the
Kropyvnytskyi Music Vocational College Svitlana Koncedalova, as members
of the "Mlynochok" folk band, performed carols and other songs about
angels – iconic characters in the artist's works.
Director of the O.O.Osmerkin Memorial Art Museum, Vita
Chernova, thanked the colleagues of the I.K.Karpenko-Karyi Literary
Memorial Museum for organizing the event and presented the book of Ivan
Karpenko-Karyi's plays "One Hundred Thousand", published in Kharkiv
during the war, to the museum gathering in 2023, the cultural journal "Antiquar"
with published caricatures of the compatriot writer, Ukrainian political
and public figure Volodymyr Vynnychenko from the satirical and humorous
periodicals of the UNR "Gedz" and "Budyak" in 1917, as well as the
booklet of the last personal exhibition of the honored artist Ukraine's
Andrii Nadiezhdin's "Nota Bene", presented in October 2021 at the "Our
City" art gallery in Svitlovodsk, Kirovohrad Region.
Everyone who came to the event talked for a long time,
remembering the colleague and friend, among whom there were many artists
- participants of the museum art project "Art Studios-2022" on the topic:
"Portraits of contemporaries on the background of war", the curator of
