On January 24, 2024, the presentation
of the book "Pieces of Pain and Faith. Poems. Graphics" by the famous
Kropyvnytskyi artist and poet Olha Krasnopolska, which was published by
Imex-LTD LLC publishing house in December 2023, was held at the
O.O.Osmerkin Art Memorial Museum.
This book was included in the List of book publications to be
published (purchased) with budget funds in 2023, which were determined
by the Expert Council on Book Publishing of the Kirovohrad Regional
Military Administration in accordance with the "Comprehensive Program
for Promoting the Development of Civil Society, the Information Sphere,
and Book Publishing in the Kirovohrad Region for the Period until 2026"
(Order of the Department of Public Communications and Information
Activities of the Kirovohrad Regional Military Administration dated
November 16, 2023 No. 53-od "On Approval of the List of Book
Publications for Release (Purchase) with Budget Funds"). The selected
works cover a variety of topics and authorial approaches, contributing
to the expansion of the cultural space and access to a variety of
literature for citizens.
In the annotation to the book it is stated: "Falling to
pieces from pain, we do not become weaker. On the contrary - in order to
be truly reborn, to become strong and to realize our own indomitability
as a shield - we must pass through the sharpest pain... Because this is
the only way faith crystallizes. Because only from faith, baptized by
the flame of painful losses, uncertainty, paralyzing fear, Ukrainian
indomitability emerges. The war in the poems and paintings of Olha
Krasnopolska is an artistic reflection on the events of the
Russian-Ukrainian war. The publication presents poems and drawings from
a sketchbook that our contemporary created after February 24, 2022,
recording our pain and our faith in words and graphics. These are the
fragments of pain and faith that are left over from us of yesterday, and
from which you can reassemble yourself - the fundamentally different
self. Because we will never be the same again as we were before the
start of the full-scale invasion... But we will definitely, as Olha
Krasnopolska emphasizes, "win and sing."
The collection of poems with author's drawings "Pieces of
pain and faith" was created on the basis of the artistic project of Olha
Krasnopolska "Pieces of pain and faith: Graphic drawn and poetic
compositions from the "pink sketchbook"" - a virtual exhibition
dedicated to the Day of Remembrance of the defenders of Ukraine who died
in of the struggle for independence, sovereignty and territorial
integrity of Ukraine, presented on August 29, 2023 on the website of the
O.O.Osmerkin Memorial Art Museum in the "Selected Exhibitions" section.
During the event dedicated to the 2nd anniversary of the
beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, Olha
Krasnopolska, who successfully works as a leading researcher of the
museum, demonstrated a prepared presentation "Art and War" about the
history of the creation of her drawings on the eve and during the war in
the context of an art historical analysis of the development art in the
years of the First and Second World Wars in comparison with the creative
reaction of Ukrainian artists to the events of the full-scale Russian
invasion of Ukraine. The decoration of the creative meeting was the
author's poems of the mystic, which she not only recited personally, but
also voiced one of them, "We will win - we will sing" as a song, the
music for which was written by the Kropyvnytskyi artist and musician
Oleksandr Kyrianov, and which was first heard in the museum on August 22
2022 during the opening of the exhibition "INVINCIBLE" within the art
project "Art studios on the theme: Portraits of contemporaries against
the background of war".
The author was congratulated with the presentation of the
book by the deputy head of the Kirovohrad regional military
administration Kateryna Koltunova, the head of the Kirovohrad regional
organization of the National Union of Writers of Ukraine Nadiia Harmazii,
the head of the Kirovohrad regional organization of the National Union
of Artists of Ukraine Andrii Hvorost, the director of the publishing
house of Imex-LTD LLC Tamara Samyliak and on behalf of the team the
director of the museum, Vita Chernova, and the head of the Department of
Communications with the Public and Information Activities of the
Kirovohrad regional military administration Vitalii Ostannii presented
her with the author's copies, noting that this book will be distributed
to all libraries of the region.
And the event ended with the traditional autograph session of
the artist and poet Olha Krasnopolska, because there were many willing
to have her book in their own library, including fellow artists,
journalists, teachers, friends and relatives. |
