The exposition of the exhibition consisted of more than 40 vytynanka of students of Art and Graphic Department of the Art Faculty of State Pedagogical University named after V.Vynnychenko created under the guidance of Larysy Harbuzenko - senior lecturer of the Department of Fine Art and Design, member of the National Union of Artists of Folk Art of Ukraine, laureate of Regional Award in the sphere of architecture, heraldry and veksilology and decorative and applied art named after Yakiv Pauchenko in nomination “decorative and applied art” in 2016. There are works of the winners of organized by the museum in 2016 competition of patriotic poster “For Independence of Ukraine!” among the students to Independence Day of Ukraine. Nowadays, the art of vytynanka (from word “vytynaty”, meaning “to cut out”), which has an ancient history in Ukraine, caught its second wind and is rapidly developing in individual work of folk art artists, who multiply traditions of folk art of vytynanka, extend its fine art limits, intensify compositional structures and give it new sense.
   Material for vytynanka is paper – white or colour. Vytynanka is made with the help of scissors and special small appliances of masters. Ornament of traditional vytynanka is geometrical and floral, one also can see anthropogenic and zoomorphic figures, images of household and architectural items, etc. Paper is folded in two, four, eight, which allows to createsteel structures, compositions.According to technological and artistic peculiarities vytynanka can be divided into: openwork – made from one piece of paper, image is located in cuts; silhouette – image is projected in silhouette; single – made form one piece of paper; complex – applique from several pieces of paper, that is why in most cases are multicoloured.
   Exhibited vytynankas are made in traditional techniques, are notable for ornamentality and accuracy of forms, laconism and refinement of visual means. Images, that are reflected in vytynankas, are full of love to the native land, home, family. They reflect deep knowledge of folk art and literature. Many of the works are dedicated to the heroic pages of history of struggle of our people for Independence of Ukraine.
