The exhibition “Tourism gems of Kropyvnytskyi town” is a result of creative cooperation between the museum and a well-known photo journalist, special correspondent of the regional newspaper “Narodne slovo”, Merited Journalist of Ukraine I.M.Demchuk within the art project initiated by the museum to Town Day “At the crossroads of Yelisavethrad – Kirovohrad”. The project is aimed at engaging people to learn about their past, showing the town streets in photographs that depict architecture from the town foundation to the present as a continued history of construction of an integral urban environment and reproduce life of its dwellers.
    Demchuk Ihor Mykolaiovych – Merited Journalist of Ukraine (2017), a member of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (1993) and the National Union of Photo Artists of Ukraine (1995), a laureate of Award named after V.K.Vynnychenko of the newspaper “Narodne slovo” (1999), regional journalistic award in the nomination “photo journalism” (2005), and municipal award of photo artists named after Vasyl Kovpak (2018), honoured with Gold medal of Ukrainian journalism (2010). Was born in 1962 in Brody, Lviv region. Graduated from Lviv State University named after I.Franko, Journalism Department (1984). Worked as a photoreporter of TARS-RATAU, Ukrinform in Kirovohrad region (1984-1995), since 1995 – photo correspondent, special correspondent of the regional newspaper “Narodne slovo”. A participant of all-Ukrainian and regional photo exhibitions. Presented exhibitions of author’s photographs if O.O.Osmerkin Art-Memorial Museum – “Stop and admire” to the 145th anniversary of Elisavethrad architect Ya.V.Pauchenko (2011), “Dvortsova Street – the past and the present” (2014), “Velyka Perspektyvna Street – from St.Elisaveta fortress to Guardian Angel of the town” (2015) and “From caryatid to High Tech. Allurement of facade plastic art of the town on Inhul” dedicated to the 150th anniversary of an artist of architecture Ya. Pauchenko (2016), “The town Central Square: chronicles” (2017) within the art project to the Town Day “At the crossroads of the streets of Elisavethrad-Kirovohrad”.
    39 color photographs by Merited Journalist of Ukraine I.M.Demchuk are shown at the exhibition. The photos depict a picturesque Kirovohrad town. The exposition is completed with the printed matter about the author of the exhibition and souvenir photo album with the photos of the previous exhibitions of the art project.
    Modern Kropyvnytskyi town is one of the central Ukraine towns that preserved its unique architectural complex of the historical center that embraces the period of more than 200 years of intensive stylistic searches and the major historical legacy that creates the background for tourism development. The town where architectural memorials became museums turning into treasuries of cultural and art heritage. Prominent writers and poets, musicians and composers, artists and theatrical personalities, philosophers and scientists made our town famous with their deeds, contributing to the world culture. Places where they lived, developed as personalities, became cultural centers with unique aura of their idea. The memorials to them are like hands of the clock of history, mark landmarks of our steppe town.
