Exhibition of works of contenders for Regional Award
in Fine Arts and Study of Art named after Oleksandr Osmerkin in 2019

    Regional Award in Fine Arts and Study of Art named after Oleksandr Osmerkin was initiated by Kirovohrad Regional Council (Resolution ¹ 409, from April 19, 2005) on the application of Kirovohrad Regional Organization of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. The Award is given for: significant achievements in fine arts and creation of impressive works of art in different genres of fine arts (painting, graphic arts, sculpture, monumental art, theatrical-decorating art) that strengthen national tradition, preserve the foundations of classical art, introduce new forms in fine arts, adapted to the present, are created on a high professional level and have received wide public recognition in Kirovohrad region and beyond; considerable art or historical investigation of the development of fine arts in the Kirovohrad region, promotion, and consolidation of the achievements of our region; considerable contribution to the development of art education, creation of original art-educational programs and their introduction in educational establishments of the region.
    The award is established in three nominations: "national tradition", "modern tendencies", "study and history of arts".
    Annually on December 8, Oleksandr Osmerkin's birthday, in the memorial museum of the artist winners are awarded the title of "Laureate of Regional Award in fine arts and study of art named after Oleksandr Osmerkin", they also receive diplomas of standard form, pecuniary reward, the honorary prize of Regional Council and Regional State Administration – a statuette of "Steppe Eagle".


    Nominates for receiving Regional Award in fine art and study of art named after Oleksandr Osmerkin in 2019 according to the decision of the jury from November 4, 2017, were assigned:

in the nomination “national tradition”:

    KRAVCHENKO Andrii Hryhorovych
(born 1956), the city of Odesa – Merited Artist of Ukraine, member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine (1992), graphic artist, deputy head of Odesa Regional Organization of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, graduated from Odesa State Art College named after M.B.Hrekov (1975) with a degree in “Graphic Art”, a participant of all-Ukrainian, international, and foreign art exhibitions, member of the organizing committee of All-Ukrainian and International exhibition “The sea of Watercolors” – for unique creative works of the recent years from the series: “Kirovohrad Oblast”, “Kirovohrad”, “Kropyvnytskyi”, and “My Ukraine”, that were made on a high professional level, assert national tradition and the basis of classic art, promote the Kirovohrad Oblast in the modern Ukrainian and world visual art. The candidature was suggested for the award by O.O.Osmerkin Art-Memorial Museum.
    SOLOVIOVA Nataliia Hennadiivna (born 1887), the town of Kropyvnytskyi – an artist, architect, graduated from Kirovohrad Institute of Regional Management and Economics, Art and Technical Department (2008) and Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture, the Department of Architecture (2012) – for the series of graphic works “Doors of the old Yelisavethrad” (2017) and “Towers and peaks of the old Yelisavethrad” (2018) from the cycle “Architecture of the Old Yelisavethrad”. The candidature was suggested for the award by Kirovohrad Regional Art Museum”.

   LAHNO Fedir Fedorovych (born 1956), town-settlement of Oleksandrivka, the Kirovohrad Oblast – a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine (1992), painter, graphic artist, laureate of the Regional Award in Fine Art and Study of Art named after Oleksandr Osmerkin in the nomination “modern tendencies” (2011), graduated from Kharkiv State Art and Industrial Institute, currently Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Art (1983), a participant of all-Ukrainian and international art exhibitions – for illustrations to the series of children books by Petro Melnyk “Miraculous Travels of Sonia and Asia to Scandinavia” (2016), “Miraculous Travels of Sonia and Asia to ancient Egypt” (2017), “Miraculous Travels of Sonia and Asia to the Zaporozhian Sich” (2019) published by TOV “Imeks-LTD” (Kropyvnytskyi). The candidature was suggested for the award by Kirovohrad Regional Organization of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine.

At the crossroads of styles and epochs. Architectural images of the city of Kropyvnytskyi captured by Ihor Demchuk” Compiler – Andrii Nadiezhdin. Photo- Ihor Demchuk. Editor-in-chief – Tamara Samyliak. – Kropyvnytskyi: “Imeks-LTD”, 2018. – 72 p. : ill. – text in Ukr. and Eng. languages, which presents Kropyvnytskyi in color artistic photographs with art history characteristics of historical, architectural, and town planning monuments of the historic city center, showing continuity of architectural language from the times of the town foundation and till the modern as an uninterrupted history of the construction of the united urban environment, reflecting the life of its inhabitants, encouraging the publicity to learn its past. The candidature was suggested for the award by O.O.Osmerkin Art-Memorial Museum.
    THE TEAM OF AUTHORS of Kirovohrad Regional Art Museum: OSIPOVA Hanna Volodymyrivna (deputy director in scientific work), SHAPOVAL Olha Vitaliivna (custodian of the funds of the 1st category), and NESTROINA Lesia Petrivna (researcher of the Department of Scientific and Educational Work Department) – for the creation of printed project – a set of post cards “Shevchenkiana from the funds of Kirovohrad Regional Art Museum” to the 250th anniversary of Kobzar (2019). The candidature was suggested for the award by Kirovohrad Regional Art Museum.
    SOLOVIOVA Nataliia Hennadiivna (born 1987) the town of Kropyvnytskyi – an artist, graduated from Kirovohrad Institute of Regional Management and Economics, Technical and Art Department (2008) and Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture, the Department of Architecture (2012) for the creation of sets of post cards “Doors of the old Yelisavethrad” (2017), “Towers and peaks of the old Yelisavethrad” (2018) from the cycle “Architecture of the Old Yelisavethrad”. The candidature was suggested for the award by Kirovohrad Regional Art Museum”.


    The exposition of the graphic works by the Merited Artist of Ukraine A.H.Kravchenko and an artist N.H.Soloviova, colored reproductions of the works of the member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine F.F.Lahno, that brightly reflect the creative features of each artist. Art history works are represented by printed matters.
