A personal online exhibition of works by Olha Shlapak, the graduate of Children School of
Arts in the town of Kropyvnytskyi, “Summer – Holidays – Dreams” is presented
within the museum art project “Gallery of Children’s Art”. The art project is aimed
at presentation of an exhibition of children’s creative works, popularization of the
best works created by young artists, involvement of kids in visual art studying, and
creation of the collection “Children’s Art”.
The Children School of Arts in Kropyvnytskyi has already presented the
works of its pupils in the museum. The school was founded in 1986 on the basis of Children
Music School No5 in the township of Nove. There are the following departments in the
school: Musical, Vocal and Choral, Choreographic, Visual Art, and Theatrical.
Shlapak Olha was born on June 18, 2004 in the town of
Kirovohrad (now Kropyvnytskyi). She studies in the 11th form in Kropyvnytskyi Gymnasium No
9. Graduated with honor from Children School of Arts in Kropyvnytskyi: the Department of
Visual Art and the Department of Folk Instruments, Bandura class (2019).
The winner of all-Ukrainian and regional musical competitions in
bandura class (teacher Halyna Kornichuk), all-Ukrainian competition of Children’s
Drawing “Happy child – Blossoming Ukraine”, Gallery “Elisavetrad”, Kropyvnytskyi
(2015, 2016, 2017, 2019), and the Regional Stage of the all-Ukrainian competition of
pupils’ art, dedicated to Shevchenko’s days “Let’s Unite, my brothers!” (2020).
The diploma winner of the Regional competition on fine art among the grade school learners
of the specialized art educational institutions “Rainbow Colors” (2014, 2015) and the
Municipal art competition “Youth’s Palette” named after Leonid Bondar to
International Children Day (2017). An active participant of school art exhibitions,
municipal art events to Town Day, youth art event “ALLA PRIMA”, joint art project of
the museum and the school “Art Workshop” within cultural and art event “A Visit to
the Museum” to International Museum Day.
More than 30 of Olha Shlapak’s works created under the supervision of
the teachers Yurii Vintenko, Halyna Yarova-Vinteko, Yuliia Burhutina, and Olha
Krasnopolska in different fine art techniques – watercolors, gouache, pencil, vytynanka,
and applique are presented at the first personal exhibition. The paintings by the young
artist fascinate with refined sense of color, incredible view of life, pencil drawings are
notable for the analytical look of the researcher, and decorative works brightly represent
the diversity of Ukrainian folk tradition. The majority of works are school tasks on the
development of compositional thinking and knowledge of art techniques, skills to work with
different materials. At the same time, they reflect the creative capabilities of the
author, who is a creative personality trying to realize her thoughts, feelings, and
dreams, love for art, desire discover the world and the universe in the works. |
