Rizdvianska-Krasnopolska’s Personal Exhibition
of Works “Half a Head” |
|
A personal exhibition of works by Olha Rizdviabska-Krasnopolska “Half
a Head” presents the creative work of Kropyvnytskyi artist.
Krasnopolska (nee Rizdvianska) Olha Serhiivna was born
on August 20, 1983 in Kirovohrad (now Kropyvnytskyi). Studied in Children Art School named
after O.O.Osmerkin (2000). Graduated from Kirovohrad (now Central Ukrainian) State
Pedagogical University named after V.Vynnychenko, the Department of Arts, specialty Visual
Art and Practical Psychology (2005).
Works as a teacher in the Department of Visual Art in Children School
of Arts in Kropyvnytskyi. The head of a private studio of visual art “Muza” in the
gallery “Yelisavethrad”. A participant of town, regional, and all-Ukrainian art
exhibitions and plein airs. The works are kept in the Museum of Arts in Kropyvnytskyi,
private collections in Ukraine and abroad.
The exhibition presents more than 50 paintings and graphic works
created between 2017 and 2020. The town landscapes, floral still lifes, unique themed
compositions, and also interesting author’s installations impress emotionally and
encourage to contemplate on the sense of existence.
The artist explained that the theme of the exhibition was chosen after
an incident: “The idea was born accidentally when a gypsum head for life drawing fell to
the floor and split in half. “Half a Head” is a metaphor for all creative people and
not only for the people of art, because there are many sayings about the head: “without
a head”, “over one’s head”, “mush for brains”, etc.”
“Olha Krasnopolska’s creative work is a psychological provocation.
Her main topic is the town, but notthe one we used to see – smart, historical,
architecturally elegant but trivial, everyday, with monotony dominating in it, and at the
same time fascinating with its enigmatic poetry and romanticism of rhythm of the life of
people who live in its cinder block apartments. The art form is realism with the bent to
hyper and surrealism. Open sky landscapes, floral still lifes with baskets and pots,
opened windows, and a swallow in the sky – each of them is a symbol and sign of modern
urban art. Here you won’t find the depth of pictorial palette or special plastics of
lines. The main thing in her works is a literary idea proved with her philosophy which
reflects constant changes of our everyday life”, - an art historian, Merited Artist of
Ukraine Andrii Nadezhdin characterized the work of the artist. |
