The Regional Award in Fine Arts and Study of Art named after Oleksandr
Osmerkin was initiated by Kirovohrad Regional Council (Resolution ¹ 409, from April 19,
2005) on the application of Kirovohrad Regional Organization of the National Union of
Artists of Ukraine.
The Award is given for: significant achievements in fine arts and
creation of impressive works of art in different genres of fine arts (painting, graphic
arts, sculpture, monumental art, theatrical-decorating art) that strengthen national
tradition, preserve the foundations of classical art, introduce new forms in fine arts,
adapted to the present, are created on a high professional level and have received wide
public recognition in the Kirovohrad Oblast and outside it;
considerable art or historical investigation of the development of fine arts in the
Kirovohrad region, promotion, and consolidation of the achievements of our region;
considerable contribution to the development of art education, creation of original
art-educational programs and their introduction in educational establishments of the
region.
The award is established in three nominations: "national
tradition", "modern tendencies", "study and history of arts".
Annually on December 8, on Oleksandr Osmerkin's birthday, in the
memorial museum of the artist, winners are awarded the title of "Laureate of Regional
Award in Fine Arts and Study of Art named after Oleksandr Osmerkin", they also
receive diplomas of standard form, pecuniary reward, award pin of the laureate of the
award, the honorary prize of Regional Council and Regional State Administration – a
statuette of "Steppe Eagle".
Nominates for receiving the Regional Award in Fine Art and Study of Art
named after Oleksandr Osmerkin in 2020 according to the decision of the jury from October
20, 2020, were assigned:
in the nomination “national tradition”
DEMYDENKO Oleksandr Volodymyrovych (born 1966),
Kropyvnytskyi – a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine (2013), a painter,
graduated from Dnipropetrovsk State Art College named after Ye.V.Vuchetycha, now Dnipro
College of Theatre and Art (1988) and Kryvyi Rih State Pedagogical Institute, now
University, with a degree in “technical drawing and fine art” (1995), a participant of
regional, all-Ukrainian, and international exhibitions – for painting the altar in
St.Volodymyr Cathedral in Kropyvnytskyi. The candidature was suggested for the award by
the council of Kirovohrad Regional Organization of the National Union of Artists of
Ukraine
KIMNATNYI Anatolii Dmytrovych (born 1980),
Kropyvnytskyi - a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine (2012), a painter,
the head of the Department in the public institution “The Museum of Arts of Kirovohrad
Regional Council” - an art gallery of Petro Ossovskyi “World and Native Country”, a
laureate of the Award of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine for special achievements of
youth in the development of Ukraine in the nomination “For creative achievements”
(2005), a laureate of the Regional Award in Fine Arts and Study of Art named after
Oleksandr Osmerkin in the nomination “study and history of arts” (2015), graduated
from Kirovohrad, now Central Ukrainian, State Pedagogical University named after Volodymyr
Vynnychenko, the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology, with a degree in “primary
education and fine art” (2003), a participant of regional and all-Ukrainian exhibitions
– for the series of works between 2000-2020 created within plein airs “Kirovohrad
region seen by artists”. The candidature was suggested for the award by the decision of
the research and methodological council of the public institution “The Museum of Arts of
Kirovohrad Regional Council”

NADEZHDIN Mykhailo Volodymyrovych (born in 1935),
Kropyvnytskyi – the People’s Artist of Ukraine (1997), Merited Art Worker of Ukraine
(1994), a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine (1988), a painter, a laureate
of the Regional Award in Fine Arts and Study of Art named after Oleksandr Osmerkin in the
nomination “modern tendencies” (2005), a head of the board of the Kirovohrad Regional
Organization of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine (1989-2015), graduated from
Dnipropetrovsk State Art College, now Dnipro College of Theatre and Art (1962), a
participant of regional, all-Ukrainian, international, and foreign exhibitions – for
unique creative works of the recent years, which introduce new visual forms in the
traditional genres of painting in the modern Ukrainian visual art. The candidature was
suggested for the award by the Council of the Kirovohrad Regional Organization of the
National Union of Artists of Ukraine
OSTROUKHOV Volodymyr Ivanovych (born 1947), the
village of Adzhamka – a laureate of the Regional Award in Fine Arts and Study of Art
named after Oleksandr Osmerkin in the nomination “modern tendencies” (2016), graduated
from Krasnodar State Art College (1974), a participant of regional, all-Soviet,
all-Ukrainian and international exhibitions - for the series of works of the recent years.

HURENKO Olena Andriivna (born 1939), Kropyvnytskyi –
an art historian, a teacher in Art School named after O.O.Osmerkin, graduated from
Kirovohrad State Pedagogical Institute named after O.S.Pushkin, now Central Ukrainian
State Pedagogical University named after Volodymyr Vynnychenko, the Philological
Department (1962), Kyiv State Art Institute, now the National Academy of Visual Art and
Architecture of Ukraine, the Department of History and Theory of Visual Art (1975) – for
the book “Tree of life of Nadiia Padurska: a sketch of life and work of the artist”.
The candidature was suggested for the award by the staff of the public institution “Regional
Universal Scientific Library named after D.I.Chyzhevskyi”
CREATIVE TEAM the public institution “The Museum of
Arts of Kirovohrad Regional Council”: OSIPOVA Hanna Volodymyrivna
(deputy director for academic affairs), YURCHENKO Oleh Hryhorovych (head
of the Department of Tourist, Local History, and Informational Work of the museum), VIZHEVSKA
Oksana Borysivna (painter of the 1st category) – for thecreation of a printed
project– a set of postcards “The atrical shine of Steppe Hellas in the Museum of Art
collection”. The candidature was suggested for the award by the decision of the research
and methodological council of the public institution “The Museum of Arts of Kirovohrad
Regional Council”
The online exhibition of works by the contenders for the award brightly
reflects the creative style of each artist. The works of the history of art are
