A photo exhibition “Kropyvnytskyi is a Town of Lovers” is presented within the art project The Town of Kropyvnytskyi through a Camera” initiated by the museum. It is aimed at the popularization of the work of Kropyvnytskyi photographers, the majority of whom are the laureates of the art awards – the Regional Award in Journalism in the nomination “Photo Journalism” and the Town Award among Photo Artists named after Vasyl Kovpak; as well as modern photo artists who have a high professional level in photo art, create photo materials aimed at enrichment and preservation of historical heritage, cover cultural, social, and economic life of the town of Kropyvnytskyi and its dwellers.
The exposition of the exhibition consists of 45 colored and black and white photos by famous in the town news photographers – Merited Journalist of Ukraine Ihor Demchuk (the regional sociopolitical newspaper “Kirovohradska Pravda”), a member of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine Oleksandr Shuleshko (edition of the territorial community of the town of Kropyvnytskyi “Vechirnia Hazeta”) and a young photographer Oleksii Kaprytsia (mediaportal DOZOR).
The authors’ photographs brightly reflect the modern life of Kropyvnytskyi citizens – their emotions, relationships, joy, and faith in a happy future, because the exhibition is dedicated to St. Valentine's Day.
This wonderful holiday is celebrated on February 14 and has a religious basis - St. Valentine's Day. Although according to the legend, the life of Christian priest is rather sad, a tradition all over the world to give gifts – heart-shaped greeting cards called valentines cards, chocolate sweets, jewelry, souvenirs - to the lovers was established. But the main tradition is to show attention and care for those who we love.
The current exhibition is a present from the photo artists who are in love with their native town of Kropyvnytskyi.
