An exhibition of children’s drawings “Architectural Portrait of the Town of Yakiv Pauchenko” from the series “Secrets of the Museum Collection” within the cultural and art event to International Museum Day “A Visit to the Museum” is dedicated to the 155th anniversary of Yakiv Pauchenko. The exposition of the exhibition consists of 24 drawings of young artists aged 11-16 made with gouache and watercolor paints, gel ink pen from the collection of O.O.Osmerkin Art-Memorial Museum: “Pupils’ and Students’ Creative Work”, “Gallery of Art Competition “Youth Palette” named after Leonid Bondar”, and “Express Exhibition of the Participants of Art Workshops”. The displayed works represent the architectural image of the historical center of the town of Kropyvnytskyi where the unique buildings constructed on the projects of Yakiv Pauchenko are located. The majority of the buildings are the Monuments of Architecture and Town Planning. Many drawings were created during the various art events in the museum – Art Workshops “Sample of Artistic Architecture” to the 100th day of memory of Yakiv Pauchenko (2014) and the Plein Air of the students of the art studio “Sovushka” on the topic “Portrait of the town: Architectural Landmarks of Yakiv Pauchenko” (2020), as well as are the winners of the art competition “Youth Palette” named after Leonid Bondar to International Children’s Day on the topics: “Classical Types of Visual Art” dedicated to the 125th anniversary of O.O.Osmerkin (2017), “World of Children’s Creative Work” dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Merited Worker of Culture of Ukraine Leonid Bondar (2018), and “My Town” dedicated to the 265th anniversary of the foundation of the town of Kropyvnytskyi (2019). The exhibition is filled with love for the native town and lights up with good thoughts which encourage to live fully and have the heart open. The exhibition is an honorable memory to Yelisavethrad architect Yakiv Pauchenko.
The online exhibition is completed with colored author’s photos by the Merited Journalist of Ukraine Ihor Demchuk from the exposition of the exhibition “Look and Admire” dedicated to the 145th anniversary of Yakiv Pauchenko. The exhibition was presented in 2011 in O.O.Osmerkin Art-Memorial Museum.
Pauchenko Yakiv Vasyliovych (March 21, 1866 – October 29, 1914, the town of Yelisavethrad, now Kropyvnytskyi) – one of the architects who were meant to create the architectural ensemble of the historical center of the modern Kropyvnytskyi. The graduate of College of Painting, Sculpture, and Architecture of Moscow Art Society (1896). The author of architectural projects of numerous private and municipal buildings as well as places of worship, which currently are the Monuments of History, Town Planning, and Architecture of local and national significance of the end of the 19th – beginning of the 20th century: theatre “Illusion” (the Central Ukrainian Scientific Boarding Lyceum, Dvortsova Street, 7), hospitable court (the Department of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Kirovohrad Oblast, Dvortsova Street, 9), the Department of the International Credit Bank (restaurant “Prima”, Dvortsova Street, 17), Goldenberg’s electrohydrohospital (Central Municipal Hospital, Arkhitektor Pauchenko Street, 45), house of the doctor Meitus (Music School No.1 named after H.H. Neuhaus, Chmilenka Street, 65), house of the doctor Waisenberg (the Department of Health of Kirovohrad Regional State Administration, Chmilenka Street, 74), St.Ann’s hospital of Red Cross (Municipal Hospital No.2, Hanna Dmytrian Street,1), residential unit (Fortechnyi district council in the town of Kropyvnytskyi, Hoholia Street, 28), and the architect’s house (O.O.Osmerkin Art-Memorial Musuem, Arkhitektor Pauchenko Street, 89). In 1914, Yelisavethrad newspaper “Holos Yuha” (“Voice of the South”) published: “The range of his buildings brightly shows him as a talented artist and architect… A doubtless achievement is that he was the first in our town who gave the examples of artistic architecture…” Yakiv Pauchenko had lived a short life – 48 years. He was buried at Petropavlivske cemetery which doesn’t exist now. His grave vanished under the foundations of new buildings. But the town remained, as well as one of the central street named after him.
