Virtual exhibition of works
students of the fine arts department
Children's School of Arts in the city of Kropyvnytskyi
"Winter entertainment"
to the New Year and Christmas holidays

The exhibition of works by students of the fine arts department of the Children's Art School of the city of Kropyvnytskyi "Winter entertainment" for the New Year and Christmas holidays is presented as part of the museum art project "Gallery of Children's Art".
The fine arts department of the Children's Art School is an active participant in the museum art project "Gallery of Children's Art", which presents collective and personal exhibitions, holds thematic art studios and master classes of famous artists.
The main task of the educational institution is to attract children and youth to the world of visual arts. Experienced artist-pedagogues professionally impart knowledge of painting, drawing, composition, decorative and applied arts and history of world art to students. Many students of the school are laureates and diploma winners of all-Ukrainian, international, as well as regional and city competitions and festivals of student creativity. Many graduates decided to become professional artists and continued their studies at art schools.
The retrospective exhibition, which is curated by the head of the fine arts department Olga Krasnopolska, presents fifty works by young artists, aged from 6 to 15, made in various artistic techniques during the last ten years, but there are also earlier ones, as well as those that written in December 2021, under the guidance of teachers: Yuriy Vintenko, Halyna Yarova-Vintenko, Larisa Yakovleva, Yulia Burgutina, Olga Krasnopolska and Daria Kostyuk.
Most of the works are educational tasks aimed at expanding students' range of compositional thinking and knowledge of artistic techniques - watercolor, gouache, colored pencils, felt-tip pens and markers, appliqué, cutting, embroidery.
Picturesque and decorative works are united by the theme of winter and embody the mythological and literary variety of traditional New Year's and Christmas holidays - divination on St. Andrew, pleasant surprises for children on St. Nicholas Day, pacification of Christmas Eve, joyful ringing of Christmas, cheerful caroling and children's entertainment from riding on sledges to sculpting snowmen. Winter landscapes, fairy-tale plots and illustrations to famous literary works are full of fantasy and personal impressions of the mysterious New Year's miracles. All student works are characterized by the originality of execution, a vivid manifestation of the authors' artistic abilities, because each of them is already a creative person who tries to embody in his works the love of fine art.
The head of the fine arts department, Olga Krasnopolska, characterizes the students' thematic exhibition as follows: "Winter, at first glance, is a sad, cold and monotonous time of year. But at the same time, it is filled with holidays, rest in the family circle and meetings with friends. Therefore, often in children's drawings, winter is saturated with emotions and color - and program control thematic works are filled with personal experiences, details and trifles, original compositional and coloristic solutions appear."
