The virtual exhibition of
digital collages by Olha Krasnopolska "2022 Birthday of Christ" is presented
on the anniversary of the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by
the Russian Federation (February 24).
Olha Serhiivna Krasnopolska was born on August 21,
1983 in Kirovohrad (now Kropyvnytskyi). She studied at the Kirovohrad
Children's Art School named after O.O.Osmуrkin. She graduated from

of war".
Participant of regional and all-Ukrainian art exhibitions.
She presented personal exhibitions of painting and graphic works in the O.O.
Osmerkin Art Memorial Museum Personal exhibition of works by Olha
Rizdvyanska-Krasnopolska "Half of a head" (2020) and the regional universal
scientific library named after D.I.Chizhevsky (2022) in the city of
Kropyvnytskyi, art gallery "VashART" in the city of Oleksandria, Kirovohrad
region. (2020) and the art gallery "Our City" in the city of Svitlovodsk,
Kirovohrad region. (2021).
Her work, characterized by philosophical reflections,
saturated with deep folk rituals and tinted with literary images, fascinates
with mystery, symbolism and at the same time emphasized realism of images
with open colors.
In the first days of the full-scale invasion of Russian
troops into Ukraine on February 24, 2022, she collected things for fighters
and displaced persons. Then she began to fight against the war with art - to
the sounds of air raids, she created digital collages on a tablet based on
panoramic photos of her hometown and Ukrainian symbols, nine in twenty days,
and later three more, and presented them with author titles and poetic
stanzas on her Facebook page.
12 months of war – 12 digital collages – 12 stories of human
emotions, thoughts, hopes and faith in the Victory of Ukraine. And another +
1 "Mother" collage...
This is how the artist Olha Krasnopolska herself commented on
her creative works in numerous interviews with the Kropyvnytskyi mass media
at the beginning of March 2022:
"Instead of agricultural machinery, military equipment from
Mordor drives through our fields. But she has awakened a majestic power that
nothing can stop. Run, orcs. "Awakening". Collage. New collage. A little
anxious today. The "tree of life" grows from human blood. When will you get
drunk, Moscow bastards? The Ukrainian song washes the enemy off the face of
the earth. On the collage, the choir named after G. Verovka is probably
performing the song "Roars and moans the Dnieper is wide". Yelka's
grandmothers sing. Birds fly. Ukraine will prosper" (March 7, 2022.Grechka)
"After the first days of the war, in which I ran around
delivering everything I could to the volunteers, I thought that I had
nothing left to give, I didn't know what else I could do. And I remembered
that I am an artist. There are a lot of ideas in my head, but there is no
time to lay out the canvases and paints, because for this it is important to
concentrate, adjust, so I grabbed the tablet, opened Photoshop - I started
making collages, because it is fast and they can be easily distributed on
the network. Art therapy is primarily for myself and for my friends, because
they can empathize through these collages. Well, and art has great power...
An incredible amount of aggression has accumulated in a usually kind and
prudent woman. I really wanted to teleport and set fire to Moscow, so that
the glow of the fire could be seen from all parts of the world. And here
Dzhokhar Dudayev's statement about the Ukrainian sun was also spread on
Facebook. So I waved... I want to raise our Scythian women to battle, and
some elements of Chernyakhiv culture..." (March 8, 2022. Persha elektronna
gazeta).
"I thought that you should do what you know how to do, now
there is a war in the information field, people need these pictures to
remind us that we have a thousand-year-old culture, symbols, signs, songs,
towels and all this should be distributed on social networks ... I thought
that the Ukrainian sun should burn Moscow and made such a first collage ...
I personified Stepan Chobanu with the symbol of our region - the Scythian
eagle. The photo shows our city and it protects it (ed. The "Eagle" collage
appeared after the death of pilot Stepan Chobanu, who on February 28 in an
Su-27 aircraft engaged in air combat over Kropyvnytskyi, distracting Russian
aviation. He was attacked by missiles) ... I really like the talisman symbol
called "Scythian women", five of them stand near the local history museum.
And it seemed to me that this enemy equipment, which is now driving through
our fields, that it has awakened an ancient power in the earth, which has
been hidden in the layers of the earth for thousands of years, and these "Scythian
women" are coming to the defense of our country" (March 15, 2022. Suspilne

2022 is the birthday of Christ |
|
