"Persona" (2018) with articles by the Krypynytskyi art critic and honored
journalist of Ukraine Bronislav Kumanskyi "From the view of the eternal"
about the work of the honored artist of Ukraine Andrii Nadiezhdin attract
special attention.
Andrii Nadiezhdin's work is full of mysteries, symbols and
signs. His artistic world is for intellectuals who are interested in the
historical past, try to understand modern life and, if possible, try to
predict the future. "I am a representative of Ukrainian romantic symbolism
of the new wave, which was born in the 90s of the 20th century," - this is
how the artist always characterized himself. His works are poetic, and this
is not surprising, because he himself wrote poems, as he said, "created
words." Passion for poetry and literature in general, a deep sense of the
art of words gave him the opportunity to successfully realize himself as an
illustrator. There are many angels in his compositions, and this also has an
author's explanation: "My angels are observers of the universe, adventurers
in the world of people. In general, since they live for a long time in our
time-space, I think they learned to sleep, eat, empathize with human life,
became similar to us, and how else. In 2014, as a reaction to the tragic
events of the undeclared war in the east of our country, a new series "Angels
do not miss bullets" was born, in which people and angels, the souls of the
dead and the living act as one." The problems to which he tried to provide a
philosophical understanding in the images of his works are the micro- and
macrocosm of the individual, its relationship with the surrounding life and
the natural environment, the place of the artist in society, the problems of
war and peace, the existence of man in an immeasurable universe.
In the booklet of his personal exhibition at the O.O.Osmerkin
Art Memorial Museum in 1996, Andrii Nadiezhdin wrote: "We are knocking on
the closed door of the Unknown. The Lord said: "Knock and it will be opened
to you." Or maybe they are already open, maybe it is the fear of the
threshold of the unknown that keeps them locked up. The unknown is
attractive and repulsive, it lures a person with the need for knowledge and
scares with the fear of the uncertainty of the future existence. Every day
we open the door to the future, feeling the tingly joy of knowledge. And at
the same time, we are disappointed that there are more questions than
answers. And we knock on the door again, walking along the eternal circle of
life." |
