This is how the artist Kateryna Kosiak frankly characterizes her artistic pursuits: "My creative path is a constant desire for pure expression of feelings and thoughts in visual images. Because of color, painting, you want to immerse yourself in a shimmering and cozy world, where you can rest and acquire, like a child on summer vacation in the village. When the world is filled with strange riddles, fairy tales, creatures and paths to vast lands. But alongside the dreamy, colorful world, the whimsical, noir graphic space of my creativity lives at the same time. There is tension, hope, or even pain and despair. Sharp, nervous forms emphasize the condition. And this is already an adult person who accepts the fullness of the world in all its manifestations. The symbolism of images woven with mythical archetypes on a whimsical background creates the desired emotional tension. This is a portal to psycho. Therefore, the main artistic directions for me today are printed graphics (lino engraving, dry needle, ink) and painting and watercolor. Graphics allow me to create a special landscape, constructions or deconstructions, individual elements. To break up space and time, to translate concrete forms into symbolism. And take an invisible pilgrim's walk accompanied by mythical chimeras. This is an internal dialogue on eternal questions. Watercolor and oil paints are taken when my inner child returns, who wants to dream and hope, believe and see the shimmering colors of the beautiful world. To see incredible stories in seemingly simple, everyday plots. And greedily note them through the lens of your vision. After all, there is no ordinary world."
The exposition consists of one hundred and nine creative works of Kateryna Kosiak, made in 2019-2023 in various techniques, genres and artistic directions, which present the multifaceted talent of the artist, full of constant search for artistic harmony in the reflection of the meaning of human existence and spiritual ascent in the vortex of modern passions. Her works are a separate world on the border of pictorial illusion and graphic reality, saturated with symbols and author's interpretations of historical legends and folk traditions.
