An exhibition of works by pupils of Kirovograd children’s art school named after A.A.Osmerkin. Kirovograd children’s art school was founded more than half a century ago, and for 20 years it has been bearing the name of a famous painter and teacher A.A.Osmerkin. Thousands of pupils graduated from the school, many of them became famous painters, lecturers and teachers at art educational establishments. But even those who had not become a painter still keep ardour for creative work and art. A bright, creative pedagogical staff works at the school. Experienced teachers, many of whom are graduates of the school, members of the National Union of artists of Ukraine, competently communicate to pupils’ knowledge of painting, drawing, sculpture, decorative art and world history of fine art. Pupils of the school are active participants and winners of town, regional, all-Ukrainian and international exhibitions and competitions.
   Works of young artists aged 11 – 16 made under the guidance of such teachers as Kuznetsoca A., Bondar’ T., Lozinski A., Kiryanova A., Hnoevaya S., Kiryanova M., Ivanova A., Kiryanova L., Plitina A. are shown at the exhibition. Works are made in the school studios an dduring summer practice in the open air.
   Paintings and graphic works, batiks, appliques from fabrics embody diversity of children’s imagination and perception of the surrounding world. All works express creative skills of each author, although, all works are school works that aim at widening by a pupil of his knowledge of watercolours, gouache, pencil, Indian ink techniques. One can feel a sincere desire for cognition in every composition. Children’s creative work always inspires to percept the world with an open heart, heartwarming thoughts and good deeds.
