Artist portrait medalist Viacheslav Popov


   On August 28, 2017 an opening of an exhibition of works by a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine V.V.Popov took place. The works are from the collection of O.O.Osmerkin Art-Memorial Museum “Artist portrait medalist Viacheslav Popov”. The exhibition was opened to 80th anniversary of the artist. Bronze commemorative medals from the series “Prominent people of Kirovohrad region” – “Olexandr Osmerkin”, “Vasyl Sukhomlynskyi”, “Lev Matsiievych”, “Petro Ossovskyi” andmany others and also printed materials about the artist: catalogues, newspaper publications, post cards depicting medals were shown at the exhibition.
   Popov ViacheslavVasyliovych was born on August 24, 1937 in Kherson. Since 1968 lives in Svitlovodsk, Kirovohrad region. Graduated from Dnipropetrovsk State Art College (1957), majored in “sculpture”. A member of the Union of Artists of the USSR, the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, The International Art Medal Federation (FIDEM, Paris, France).A laureate of Regional Award in fine arts and study of art named after Olexandr Osmerkin in the nomination “national tradition” (2013). A participant of regional, national, all-union, international and foreign exhibitions of medal art. Works are kept in many museums of Ukraine and other countries.
