Nominees for the Award named after Pauchenko – 2018


    On February 20, 2018 a presentation of an exhibition of works by the contenders for the Regional Award in the sphere of architecture, heraldry and vexillology and decorative and applied art named after Yakiv Pauchenko in 2018 took place in O.O.Osmerkin Art-Memorial Museum. The award was initiated by the Kirovohrad Regional Council in 2002 on the application of regional unions of the National Union of architects of Ukraine, Ukrainian Heraldic Society and the National Union of artists of Ukraine. According to the resolution of Kirovohrad Regional Council from August 22, 2017 ¹362 the awarding is held annually not on July 1 – on Day of Architecture of Ukraine, but on March 21 – on birth day of Yakiv Pauchenko.
    This year works are nominated only in one category “heraldry and vexillology” – heraldic symbolics of Oleksandriiski and Petriovski districts of Kirovohrad region, the authors of which are Merited Architect of Ukraine, a citizen of honour of our town Kirovohrad (now Kropyvnytskyi), head of Kirovohrad regional department of Ukrainian Heraldic Society Vitalii Kryvenko, member of Ukrainian Heraldic Society, candidate of Historical Sciences, associate professor of Social Sciences and Document Sciences of Central Ukrainian National Technical University Mykola Tupchiienko and executive secretary of Kirovohrad regional department of Ukrainian Heraldic Society, director of the Museum of Music Culture named after Karol Szymanowski Oleksandr Poliachok, and also heraldic symbolics of Novhorodkivski district and the village of Novhorodka of Kirovohrad region, developed by a young artist, graduate of Lviv National Academy of Arts, member of Ukrainian Heraldic Society Krystyna-Kateryna Myhul.
    The presentation of the nominated works by candidate of Historical Sciences Mykola Tupichiienko and deputy head of Kirovohrad regional department of Ukrainian Heraldic Society, regional ethnographer Kostiantyn Shliakhovyi was very interesting. They gave a solid explanation of the symbolics of coat of arms and flags.
    Head of Kirovohrad Regional Council, head of the commission of the award Oleksandr Chornoivanenko mentioned during the exhibition opening, that the developed modern heraldic symbols of the Kirovohrad region are based on the traditions and historical memory.
    Other members of the contest committee – head of regional department of Ukrainian Heraldic Society, Merited Architect of Ukraine Vitalii Kryvenko, head of the Department of Regional Development, Town Planning and Architecture of Kirovohrad Regional State Administration, deputy head of the contest committee of the award Viktoriia Kulikova, Chairman of the Board of the Regional Organization of the National Union of Artists of Ukarine Andrii Khvorost – said words of salutation.
