On October 5, 2021,
the presentation of a personal exhibition of the works of the well-known
Odesa artist, Honored Artist of Ukraine Nataliya Martyniuk "Graphic
compositions" and a catalog as part of the museum art project for the
Day of the Artist "In the Artist's Workshop" was held in the O.O.
Osmerkin Art Memorial Museum, which has aims to popularize the work of
Ukrainian artists and provides for holding personal exhibitions and
publishing catalogs with interviews - artists' reflections on art and
life, reproductions of works that vividly reflect their creative
pursuits.
Nataliya Oleksandrivna Martyniuk (born 1946) - Honored
Artist of Ukraine (2021), member of the National Union of Artists of
Ukraine (1982). She graduated from the Odesa Art School named after M.B.
Grekov, now VNKZ "M.B. Grekov Odesa Art College", painting department
(1967) and Leningrad Higher Art and Industrial School named after V. I.
Mukhina, now the St. Petersburg State Art and Industrial Academy named
after A.L. Shtiglits, faculty of "interior and equipment" (1973). She
worked as an artist in the graphic shop of the Odesa Art and Production
Combine of the Art Fund of the Ukrainian SSR and senior teacher of
special disciplines at the Odesa Art School named after M. B. Grekova.
He works creatively in drawing, watercolor and oil painting techniques.
Participant of city, regional, republican, all-Ukrainian, all-Union,
international and foreign art exhibitions. Has numerous personal
exhibitions. Her creative works, written in the original author's manner
of drawing, are unique examples of modern Ukrainian graphic art and
adorn the collections of the Directorate of Exhibitions of the National
Union of Artists of Ukraine (Kyiv), the Odessa Art Museum, and private
collections in Ukraine and abroad.
The exposition of the presented exhibition consists of more
than twenty graphic works of Natalia Martyniuk from the 1970s - 2010s,
donated by the author to the museum funds in 2020. These are landscapes,
still lives, portraits, genre compositions. There are many works among
them made with a graphite pencil, which impress with the rich emotional
energy of strokes on large surfaces. The large format of graphic sheets
is a unique feature of the artist's artistic handwriting.
And although Nataliya Oleksandrivna was unable to attend the
opening of the exhibition in person due to quarantine restrictions, all
those present were pleased to view the photo presentation of the
artist’s creative and pedagogical chronicle prepared by the museum and
the video film “Until she left…” about the impromptu exhibition of still
life painting in the workshop, organized in 2013 year by Odessa artists,
among whom was Nataliya Martyniuk.
The associate professor of the Department of Art Education,
Faculty of Pedagogy, Psychology and Arts of the Central Ukrainian State
Pedagogical University named after of Volodymyr Vynnychenko, Candidate
of Art History, Olena Kyrychenko, and the compiler of the catalog "Graphic
Compositions of Nataliya Martynyuk", the museum's leading researcher,
Honored Artist of Ukraine Andriy Nadezhdin.
The opening of the exhibition was attended by students of the
2nd year of the faculty of pedagogy, psychology and arts of the Central
State University named after V. Vynnychenko headed by senior teacher
Larisa Kulinich. Young artists, after viewing the exhibition, expressed
a desire to set up art studios in the museum to try to make a drawing
with a graphite pencil in the manner of the Honored Artist of Ukraine
Nataliya Martyniuk, whose works fascinate with the rhythm of strokes and
make us think about the meaning of art in our lives. |
