On February 29 and March 7, 2024, presentations of exhibition projects by students of the
Department of Art Education, Faculty of Pedagogy, Psychology and Arts of Central Ukrainian State
University named after Volodymyr Vynnychenko took place in the O.O.Osmerkin Art Memorial
Museum. They were prepared by students of the 4th year of the first (bachelor's) level of higher
education during their pedagogical practice at the O.O.Osmerkin Art School, whose classrooms are
temporarily housed in the museum.
The curator of these artistic events is the senior lecturer of the department, Larysa Kulinich, a
well-known ceramist artist, a member of the National Union of Artists and Masters of Folk Art of
Ukraine, laureate of the regional prize in the field of architecture, heraldry and vexillology and
decorative and applied art named after Yakiv Pauchenko in the nomination "decorative and applied
art".
Creative meetings of students with students of the art school, during which they also
demonstrated thematic video materials, became an original addition to the exhibition expositions.
The exposition of the exhibition of printed graphics "Prints of creativity" was made up of the
educational and creative works of students of the past years from the discipline "Eagle graphics",
made in the techniques of single-color and color linocut, engraving on cardboard, monotype,
diatype. Its organizers, students Kateryna Kravchenko, Kateryna Kibukevych, and Daria Taran,
using the examples of the exhibited works of art and filmed video plots, talked about the exciting
process of creating engravings and prints, about working in the graphic workshop of the university
with an etching machine, and about the unique opportunity to master these secrets of graphic
creativity.
The artistic ceramics exhibition with the symbolic name "Elements in ceramics" was
organized by the participants of the scientific problem group "Image of modern art" students Daria
Kosiak, Nika Svatkova and Yelyzaveta Marchenko. Her exposition consisted of educational and
creative semester and course works of students, completed during 2021-2024. Their authors are
both current students and graduate students. "These ceramic works embody artistic images of nature
and natural elements, developed on the basis of stylization of natural objects and phenomena. In
addition to the pronounced aesthetic value, individual works also have a certain utilitarian purpose,
they can serve as tableware, candle holders, organizers, etc. Each product is the result of an
individual search for an artistic image and idea, painstaking work and masterful implementation in a
rather technically complex and whimsical technique," said Larysa Kulinich during the opening, who
theoretically and practically researches the historical traditions of folk ceramics of the Kirovohrad
Region, in particular the Tsvitne pottery center , and introduces traditional pottery techniques into
modern Ukrainian decorative and applied art.
Presenting the exhibition, Nika Svatkova and Daria Kosiak interestingly talked about the
imagery of modern ceramic art, the technical aspects of creation, revealed the meaning of artistic
images embedded in the works exhibited at the exhibition, and the means of their realization. The
students of the art school watched with interest the video material about the stages of sculpting,
painting with glazes and firing, which was prepared by student Vladyslav Diadiusha, and then they
enthusiastically got acquainted with the exhibition of artistic ceramics, where surprises awaited
them - sweets in candy boxes, lighted candles in candle holders, and most importantly, extremely
interesting comments by the talented artist Larysa Kulinich and her students about the exhibited
works, which you could even touch to feel the texture of clay - a natural material that mankind has
used in pottery since ancient times.
