On June 21, 2024,
on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the opening of the museum to
visitors, the O.O.Osmerkin Art Memorial Museum received a gift of works of art that will
complement the collection of modern Ukrainian fine art.
Architect and artist, member of the National Union of Architects and Artists of Ukraine, Iryna
Kukharenko, who has repeatedly presented author's personal exhibitions in the museum,
congratulating the museum staff on the holiday, presented a watercolor work depicting the majestic
and at the same time fabulous and mysterious house of the talented architect Yakiv Pauchenko. This
drawing already has a history, because it was written in August 2020 during the quarantine, when
the artists Iryna Kukharenko and Olha Kolomiets from Kropivnytskyi arranged an improvised plein
air near the museum and created an artistic image of the architectural monument, saturated with
sunlight and filled with the breath of energy of the life-giving force of creativity.
It was unexpected, but extremely pleasant, to receive the graphic works of the original artist
Andrii Lipatov (1960-2010), a member of the National Union of Masters of Folk Art of Ukraine, as
a gift to the museum funds. This event is significant for the museum, because this fall the museum
will hold the third exhibition of the Biennale of naive art and art of primitivism named after Andrii
Lipatov "The Velor Cat" to the All-Ukrainian Day of Culture Workers and Folk Art Masters. The
unique drawings were handed over to the museum by the poetess, novelist, translator, member of
the National Union of Writers of Ukraine, head of the literary association "Step" named after Viktor
Pohribnyi, director of music school No. 4 Olha Polevina. Known not only in our city, but also at the
all-Ukrainian level, the writer told an interesting story of her acquaintance with Andrii Lipatov, who
made the cover art and illustrated her book of poems and plays "The Underside of Happiness", first
published in 2003 and republished with an addition in in 2007 It was these drawings-illustrations of
Andrii Lipatov, among which are the most beloved writer "Don Juan and others", and her own
author's books that Olha Polevina gave to the museum.
And on this day, the museum staff received sincere congratulations from their colleagues. The
aroma of a magical bouquet of lavender from the museum garden from the Ivan Karpenko-Karyi
Literary and Memorial Museum team led by director Larysa Khosiainova, presented from the very
morning, filled the exhibition halls with fragrances and created an impressionistic allusion of sunny
French Provence. And delicate field daisies from the chief custodian of the funds Valentyna
Nozhenko and research associate Iryna Petlia from the art museum seemed to mark the image of
Oleksandr Osmerkin, who liked to depict them in his still lifes, with a subtle flair. Valentyna
Nozhenko, who at one time worked in our museum and took an active part in the celebration of the
100th anniversary of Oleksandr Osmerkin's birth in 1992, wished for the artist's paintings to be
returned to the museum's memorial hall as soon as possible. The main custodian of the funds of the
Karol Szymanowski Museum of Musical Culture, Olena Klassova, who also successfully worked as
a researcher in our museum for many years, was personally acquainted with the artist's widow,
Nadiia Osmerkina, and met her several times, also mentioned this event. Memories of working
together in the museum, wishes for new interesting art projects - all this was filled with the
communication of museum colleagues during a meeting in the native museum of the artist and
teacher Oleksandr Osmerkin on the eve of the artist's memorial day, which is commemorated on
June 25.
The museum also donated on a holiday. The museum staff congratulated Yevhenia
Maliavkina, the director of the Heinrich Neuhaus Music School No. 1, who is one of the first
participants of the museum's art project Art Studios-2022 on the theme: "Portraits of
contemporaries against the background of war" with a happy birthday. And a gift for Mrs.
Yevhenia, who is the initiator of numerous concerts of students and teachers of the school in the
music hall of the museum, was her portrait made by the artist Olha Krasnopolska. Presenting her
original graphic work, the curator of the project, leading researcher of the museum, Olha
Krasnopolska, recalled how this artistic event took place in April 2022 in the empty memorial hall,
in which all the paintings of Oleksandr Osmerkin and other objects from the artist’s workshop were
dismantled at that time, and only the ancient one remained grand piano, and now the exhibition
"Invincible: Portraits" is exhibited in this hall contemporaries against the background of war".
This was the museum holiday with gifts, sincere congratulations and wishes for a happy
museum fate... |
