On August 16, 2024,
the O.O.Osmerkin Art Memorial Museum hosted an art event by the
Kropyvnytskyi artist Olha Krasnopolska "Mrs. Olya's Travel Exhibition "Ten Days of Rain in the
Hot Summer"", which presents graphic and pictorial works created by her in the open air in the
village of Vorokhta, Ivano-Frankivsk region, July 15-25 2024, organized by Dnipro artists Maria
Hrim and Oleksandr Vasylenko for their pupils of the fine arts studios, of which they are the heads,
of the Dnipro City Palace of Children and Youth.
The exposition of the exhibition consists of more than 40 sketches - watercolor and gouache
drawings, works made with acrylic, oil pastel and mixed media, as well as sketches with a marker
and pencil from a sketchbook. These are the Carpathian landscapes, saturated with the bright light
of the colors of the palette of an artist in love with Ukrainian nature, and portraits of young artists -
plein air participants, who, despite the constant shelling of their native city of Dnipro, courageously
continue to study art with undeniable faith in the victory of their country.
Installations, which have
become its organic component, attract special attention at the exhibition. The idea of their creation
belongs to the artist Natalia Kornilova, who is the author of the design of the exhibition poster and
flyer. The textured decoration symbolically reproduces the Carpathian Mountains with heavy rains,
on its background, open-air works by Olha Krasnopolska are exhibited, surrounded by the author's
texts-comments and color photos of the artist in a raincoat, which is also an exhibit of the
exhibition, as well as a chair, a palette, brushes and a sketchbook , who travelled together with the
tireless artist.
Everyone who came to the museum for the opening of the exhibition was fascinated by the
story of Olha Krasnopolska, illustrated with bright photos and video stories, which were shown on a
large screen accompanied by the sounds of rain, about how interesting the plein air was during the
breaks between showers while waiting for the sun's rays, about adventures on the road and while
climbing mountain peaks, as well as about communication with creative youth. "This is a painted
story about how artists relax in the strict regime of plein air. A story about wonderful people who
support each other in difficult times. And about incredibly talented young people who inspire to live
and work," concluded Olha Krasnopolska, happily handing out autographs on the exhibition flyer
for friends and fans of her work.
On behalf of the museum staff, Director Vita Chernova congratulated Olha Krasnopolska on
the opening and presented her with a set of watercolor paper with wishes for new successful plein
airs and future personal exhibitions. |
