Architectural vernissage to the 270th anniversary of the founding of the city of Kropyvnytskyi

On September 20, 2024, on the eve of the City Day (September 21), the presentation of the thematic exhibition “Architectural Collage of the City of Kropyvnytsky” took place at the O.O.Osmerkin Art Memorial Museum, dedicated to the 270th anniversary of the founding of the city.
This is a joint art event of the museum and the O.O.Osmerkin Art School of the city of Kropyvnytskyi. The exhibition is organized within the framework of two museum art projects “Children's Art Gallery” and “The City of Kropyvnytskyi through a Photo Lens”. The basis of the exhibition is twenty creative works with architectural landscapes of the city by young artists aged 14 to 16, made in various techniques - pencil, watercolor, pastel, ink, liner, as well as decorative collage, under the guidance of teachers Iryna Zantariia, Yuliia Zakharina, Oleksandra Kuznetsova, Volodymyr Plitin, Olena Pryimachenko and school director Hanna Tymofiienko. Many of the presented drawings reproduce buildings built according to the designs of the Yelysavehrad architect Yakiv Pauchenko (1866-1914), which are an ornament of the architectural ensemble of the historical center of the city of Kropyvnytskyi. The original component of the exhibition was photographic materials from the museum collection "Modern Ukrainian Photo Art". These are large-format color author's photographs by Honored Journalist of Ukraine Ihor Demchuk and thematic photo collages created by Honored Artist of Ukraine Andrii Nadiezhdin, which were exhibited at photo exhibitions as part of the museum art project for the City Day "At the Crossroads of Yelysavethrad – Kirovohrad streets" in 2014-2018, and which depict the architecture of the city from the time of its foundation to the present day.
It was about the architectural beauty of the city of Kropyvnytskyi that Olena Klassova, the chief curator of the Karol Szymanowski Museum of Musical Culture, author of printed publications about the history of the city of Kropyvnytskyi and its unique architectural monuments of the historical center, spoke at the opening of the exhibition: a set of postcards "Legends of Our City" and the catalog-guide "1-2-3 days in Kropyvnytskyi".
And the director of the art school, Hanna Tymofiienko, having received gratitude from the museum for the joint event and the booklet, noted that this is the first exhibition in the academic year that has begun, which is an anniversary year for the school, and the school will soon celebrate its 65th anniversary. Experienced teachers-artists work in this educational institution of primary art education, which in 1992 was named after the professor of painting Oleksandr Osmerkin on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of his birth. Preserving the foundations of an academic school, they skillfully introduce the latest forms of education, the result of which are victories of school students at city, regional, all-Ukrainian and international exhibitions-competitions.
And for the Olexander Osmerkin Art Memorial Museum, this year is special – 30 years ago, in the summer of 1994, it hospitably opened the doors of its elegant building to visitors and became a real art center for fans of fine arts, and during the war, a kind of art shelter for young artists and their mentors, because since last year its halls have been hosting classes of art school. Therefore, the main participants of the opening were students of the O.O.Osmerkin Art School, who, together with their teachers, were interested in the exhibition, which was imbued with the architectural history of the city.
