The exhibition presents paintings by a 3rd year student of Art and Graphic Department of Art Faculty of Central Ukrainian State Pedagogical University named after Volodymyr Vynnychenko Uliana Shkurenko “Sing a song into to me, summer” within art project “New generation”.
   Initiated by the museum art project “New generation” is aimed at discovering bright, talented individuals in a modern fine art of Ukraine exactly among student youth, and organization of personal and group exhibitions, and also publishing of theme booklets with reproductions of works and articles on art history.
   Shkurenko Uliana was born in 1995 in the town of Kamianske (Dniprodzerzhynsk) Dnipropetrovsk region. Studied at children’s art schools: named after T.Ya.Paty (2003-2007) in urban-type settlement Petrykivka and named after I.H.Pershudchev in the town of Kamianske (2007-2010), Dnipropetrovsk region.
   In 2014 graduated from Petrykivka vocational-technical school¹79 in specialty “artist of painting on wood”, and on coming to Kropyvnytskyi entered Central Ukrainian State Pedagogical University named after Volodymyr Vynnychenko, Art and Graphic Department of Art Faculty in specialty “fine art and design” (instructor – PhD in Pedagogy, a member of the National Union of Folk Art Masters Larysa Harbuzenko). A participant of national and international exhibitions and competitions of applied art.
   Exposition of the first personal exhibition of a young artist comprised more than twenty works of 2016-2017 years on topic of Ukrainian folk songs, made in author’s manner in traditional Petrykivka painting style. Ulian Shkurenko adapts the painting technique to usage of modern media, because now petrykivka painting is not only a folk art that preserves traditions of decoration of Ukrainian houses, but also a modern painting that develops and acquires new traits.
    Uliana Shkirenko’s exhibition is full of love for Ukrainian culture, folk art and encourages to the national self-knowledge.
