For the first time Kirovograd art school presents creative works of its pupils in A.A.Osmerkin Art-Memorial Museum. The school was founded in 1986 on the basis of the children's music school ¹5 in Nove village. The art school has such departments: musical, vocal and choral, choreographic, fine arts and theatrical. The main aims of the institution are involvement of children and youth to the world of art. Annually pupils and creative groups of the school participate in different prestigious festivals and competitions, taking prize-winning places.
   The Fine Arts Department has been functioning since 1986. Since 1993 it has been headed by the National Union of Artists of Ukraine member J.B.Vintenko. Since then experienced artists-teachers, G.G.Yarovaja-Vintenko and L.A.Yakovleva, have been working in the school; they communicate to their pupils knowledge of painting, drawing, composition, decorative and applied arts and history of the world art on a professional level.
   Many pupils of the school are laureates of competitions of different levels. For example, vivid pages in the school history were added by Irene Zhalins'ka (a silver medal of the 1st Tehran International Biannual Art Competition & Exhibition in 2000), Alexander Kovalenko and Olena Buryak (bronze medals of the same competition), bronze medal winner of the 3rd International Exhibition & Competition in Islamic Republic of Iran in 2003 and a repeated winner of the regional competitions - Alexander Dubrova, Andrew Kornilo - laureate of the National children's drawing Competition "How I will defend my Motherland" in 2005, winners of the 7th and 8th National art contest for pupils "Lets unite, my brothers…", 2008-2009 - Jana Kozlovska and Alina Vyunyk. Annually pupils of the department become winners of the Regional Art Competition for Pupils "Happy colours".
   Many school-leavers receive higher art education at the Art Department of V.Vynnychenko Kirovograd State Pedagogical University, at the Design Department of Kirovograd Institute of Regional Management and Economy and in other educational establishments.
   More than 50 art works, made in different techniques by young artists aged 8 to 17, are presented at the exhibition. Pictorial works based on fairy tales motives impress by the openness of color, vivid imagination, sincere yearning for cognition of the world around. Works of decorative and applied arts - paper plastic art, embroidery, batik, collage, applique and puppets in particular, brightly realize mythological and literary varieties of Ukrainian national traditions. The majority of the exhibited works are fieldworks aimed to broaden pupils' scope of compositional way of thinking and their knowledge of artistic techniques - watercolors, gouache, and works of different materials. Every pupil is a small creative personality, who tries to embody in her\his works feelings, fancies, love of art. The whole exhibition of children's creative work is illuminated by bright ideas and encourages living a full life with an open heart.
