Lomakin
Mykola Oleksandrovych was born in 1967 in Kirovograd. Finished Kirovograd
children's art school. In 1996 graduated from Kharkiv Art-Industrial Institute, majored in
graphic arts. Since 2001 has been working in the sphere of book illustration.
Participant of All-Ukrainian and foreign exhibitions; also took part in
numerous regional book illustrations exhibitions. In 2002 his personal exhibition took
place in House of Artists of Kharkiv organization of the National Union of artists of
Ukraine.
69 graphic works are presented at the current exhibition "Graphic
Ballads" - illustrations to literary works by Ukrainian, Russian and foreign writers:
"Foud" (the novel is a winner of Oles Gonchar Award) by Ya.Yarish, "The
Kreutzer Sonata" by L.Tolstoy, "Ivanhoe" and "The Talisman, or Richard
the Lionheart in Palestina" by W.Scott, "The Suicide Club" by
R.L.Stevenson, "Aroun the World in Eighty Days" and "Michel Strogoff"
by J.Verne, "Karlsson-on-the-Roof" by A.Lindgren, "The Red Rover" by
F.Cooper, "Under the Southern Cross" by L.Boussenard, "Robinson
Crusoe" by D.Defoe, "Stay Alive" by N.Vanier and also illustrations to
Ukrainian folk tales and encyclopedias for children.
His works are notable for decorativeness and picturesqueness, careful
attitude to the details and high graphic culture. The artist often uses traditional
graphic materials and techniques in his works - graphic pencil or crayon, drawing with a
pen, watercolours. |
