“Art workshops”, founded two years ago, a joint art project of the museum and the Fine Arts Department of Kirovograd children’s school of arts during which pupils of the school under the direction of a well-known KIrovograd painter, member of the National Union of artists of Ukraine Yu.Vintenko reflected art studios in the halls of the museum, took place in A.A.Osmerkin Art-Memorial Museum within the framework of an art event “A visit to a museum”, dedicated to International Museums Day.
“Art is taught in the museum” – quote by a world famous French painter Auguste Renoir, which was A.Osmerkin’s credo, defined the theme of this year art workshops. “Among my “universities”, that left indelible mark, one of the first places were taken by Shchukin’s collection in Moscow”, - wrote A.Osmerkin in his autobiography. He himself perfected his skill in museums.
Pupils of the school together with their teachers G.Yarovaya-Vintenko, O.Dubrova and Yu.Vintenko had been working for four hours in the memorial hall of the museum. They worked on their personal reproduction of A.Osmerkin’s paintings. Young artists created their own interpretation of the professor of painting A.Osmerkin’s paintings. Traditionally, a graduate of the school and now a student of the art department of V.Vynnychenko State Kirovograd Pedagogical University Bogdan Garashchenko participated in the art workshops. He worked in oil painting technique.
The aim of the art event was not only knowledge of A.Osmerkin creative works but also cultivation of interest in a painting as a bearer of the basis of artistic culture and tradition. Adopting artistic methods, studying peculiarities of painting creation they widened their own artistic capabilities and felt concerned to art.
And the result was an express-exhibition of the young artists’ and their teachers’ “Art is taught in the museum” which was presented in the museum halls.
