On August 18, 2020, the mayor Andrii
Raikovych and the secretary of the City Council Andrii Tabalov awarded the laureates of
the municipal art awards of 2020 in the City Council of the town of Kropyvnytskyi before
the start of the session meeting.
The Merited Artist of Ukraine Serhii Shapovalov received the Diploma of
the Laureate of the Municipal Award named after Borys Vintenko for his special service to
the territorial community of the town in visual art, popularization of the cultural and
historical heritage of the town in his paintings, creation of its positive image
throughout Ukraine and abroad. The candidature was suggested by the regional organization
the National Union of Artists of Ukraine with the support of the staff of O.O.Osmerkin
Art-Memorial Museum. Vivid landscapes of the town of Kropyvnytskyi filled with love to the
unique architecture of its historical center were exhibited in the museum at the
exhibition “Pictorial Palette of
Serhii and Anatolii Shapovalov” to the 265th anniversary of the town
foundation (2019).
The press photographer of the periodical of the territorial community
of the town of Kropyvnytskyi “Vechirnia Hazeta”, a member of the National Union of
Journalists of Ukraine Oleksandr Shuleshko received the Diploma of the Laureate of the
Municipal Award of the press journalists named after Vasyl Kovpak for high professionalism
in photo art, creation of photo materials aimed at enrichment and preservation of the
historical heritage, coverage of economic, social, cultural life of the town of
Kropyvnytskyi. The candidature for the award was suggested by the staff of O.O.Osmerkin
Art-Memorial Museum. The photographs of the architecture of the town of Kropyvnytskyi and
portraits of creative personalities have been exhibited in the museum at personal
exhibitions of Oleksandr Shuleshko: “Town. People” (1997) and “Town. Space of Light” (2013).
The town authorities congratulated the laureates and wished them
creative inspiration and future successes. Merited Artist of Ukraine Serhii Shapovalov
handed one of his paintings as a gift to the town community as a sign of appreciation that
the local authorities pay attention to the sphere of culture.
