A personal exhibition of graphic art by a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine Fedir Lahno “Life power of Fedir Lahno’s creative work” dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the artist is presented within the art project “Laureates of the Regional Award in Fine Art and Study of Art named after Oleksandr Osmerkin”. The project is aimed at the popularization of the creative work of the artists – laureates of the award in the nominations “national tradition” and “modern tendencies”. It presupposes the organization of personal exhibitions and publication of catalogs with articles about artists and with the reproductions of their best works.
    Lahno Fedir Fedorovych was born on February 24, 1956, in the town settlement Oleksandrivka, the Kirovohrad Oblast. Graduated from Kharkiv State Art and Industrial Institute, now Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts (1983).
    A member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine (1992). A painter, graphic artist. A laureate of the Regional Award in Fine Art and Study of Art named after Oleksandr Osmerkin in the nomination “modern tendencies”: in 2011- for the creative works of different years, in 2019 - for the illustrations to the series of children’s books by Petro Melnyk “An amazing journey of Sonia and Asia to Scandinavia” (2016), “An amazing journey of Sonia and Asia to ancient Egypt” (2017), “An amazing journey of Sonia and Asia to Cossack Sich” (2019), published by TOV “Imeks-LTD”, the town of Kropyvnytskyi. A member of all-Ukrainian and international art exhibitions.
Works are kept in the Museum of Arts and O.O.Osmerkin Art-Memorial Museum (Kropyvnytskyi), in many private collections in Ukraine and abroad.
    Creative work areas – monumental art, painting, graphic art, book illustration. Interest in plastics of things can be traced in the works. On that basis, the artist builds compositional phantasmagoria of life. The artist’s work can be characterized by the appeal to traditions of Western European modernism, American abstract art, and Transavantgarde.
    The series of the drawings “Fragments of vitality & morality” by Fedir Lahno is displayed for the first time. The drawings were presented by the author to the museum collection “Modern Ukrainian Fine Art” in 2020.
    “28 drawings made with a simple graphic pencil in 2019 figuratively convey the peculiarities of the history and everyday life of the present time, marked by life and death limits. I consider art in all its forms to be the basis of Fedir Lahno’s creative work, a stepping stone of art searches. It is where forms of his aesthetic and art interests start. Fedir Lahno’s creative compositions from the series “Fragments of vitality & morality” is a great path from Biblical to cosmic through everyday” – mentioned the leading researcher of the museum, art historian, Merited Artist of Ukraine Andrii Nadezhdin in the introduction article to the exhibition catalog.
